'The Dark Knight' Producer Set to Adapt Graphic Novel 'Langley High'
Atlas Entertainment, the company backed by The Dark Knight producer Charles Roven, just recently made moves into the independent film arena with the dramatic dark comedy Revenge for Jolly, which will feature Elijah Wood, Kristen Wiig and many more. Now Roven and producer/Atlas executive Alex Gartner are working on yet another project as Deadline reports the producing duo have optioned Langley High, a forthcoming graphic novel from J.C. Spink and Christoper Cosmos from the management and production company Benderspink. Plot details on what seems a young adult spy thriller can be found below.

Richard Jenkins Joins Tom Cruise in McQuarrie's 'One Shot' Adaptation
The cast of One Shot is quickly becoming an impressive assembly of talent. Tom Cruise is set to star as former military policeman-turned drifter Jack Reacher in the film based on the 9th novel in Lee Child's series about a small town that literally comes under fire when a string of mysterious serial sniper murders occur. David Oyelowo was recently cast as a veteran police officer investigating the murders and Rosamund Pike will play the accused shooter's defense attorney. But it doesn't stop there, as Variety reports Richard Jenkins has also joined the cast to oppose Pike's character, playing the prosecuting attorney.

Dare to Look: Full 'Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence)' Poster Reveal
Avert your eyes! No one wanted to see it, but they made it anyway, here it is, your first look at something that might be the talk of the town after tonight. Premiering at Fantastic Fest in Austin, TX this evening (Thursday) is Tom Six's The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence), his disgusting follow-up to the 2009 cult horror The Human Centipede (First Sequence). SlashFilm has the poster reveal today and it gives us a good look at what we can expect to see in this, for better or worse. We last featured a short teaser trailer a few weeks ago, and expect the first reviews to arrive tonight. This is fairly NSFW, in fact it's NSF-anything!

Warner Bros Also Developing a Remake of TIFF Fave 'Sleepless Night'
Another day, another remake. It was inevitable. One of the other hot titles coming out of the Toronto Film Fest Midnight Madness line-up this year, also one of my other favorites along with The Raid, is also getting a Hollywood remake - Frédéric Jardin's Sleepless Night. Heat Vision reports that Warner Bros is the studio that ended up with the rights for the remake, zeroing "in on the movie even before it had finished its premiere at TIFF." They haven't named a new director yet, but Roy Lee (of The Uninvited, The Roommate, Abduction, The Woman in Black, Oldboy) is producing & developing for the studio, with Sarah Schechter.

Fox Adapting Asimov's Sci-Fi 'The Caves Of Steel' with Henry Hobson
More sci-fi coming our way courtesy of another Isaac Asimov adaptation - awesome! Deadline reports that 20th Century Fox is developing a live-action adaptation of Asimov's 1953 story The Caves Of Steel, and has already attached graphic/credits sequence designer Henry Hobson to direct his first feature. The story is a murder mystery that takes place "roughly three millennia in Earth's future, a time when hyperspace travel has been discovered," and Earth is overpopulated and there's a fear of robots. Okay, I'm hooked, I just hope Hobson can put together that world, but he's also working on another zombie film called Maggie first.

Big Ben and Margaret Thatcher Collide on First Poster for 'Iron Lady'
We've already gotten a first look at Meryl Streep in The Iron Lady with the actress fully transformed into Margaret Thatcher, a woman who rose to become the first woman to lead a major Western democracy. She won three successive General Elections and served as British Prime Minister for more than eleven years, a record unmatched in the 20th century. The teaser trailer gave us a taste of her promising, and likely Oscar-worthy performance, and now we have a cool poster for the film which juxtaposes an image of Streep as Thatcher along with Big Ben and the United Kingdom's Parliament in London. See it below .

'Captain America' Sequel Apparently May Not Hit Theaters Until 2014
Back in April we got the expected news that sequels for both Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger were already being developed. Since then, Thor 2 has been set for a summer 2013 release (along with Iron Man 3) with Betty Jenkins recently entering early talks to helm the thunderous sequel. However, when it comes to Captain America 2, we might be waiting a bit longer. The Playlist recently spoke with franchise star Chris Evans who said Marvel Studios and Disney, "may wait until 2014 until they release the next Cap. Marvel has a lot of balls in the air, they aren’t going to cannibalize their films.” Read on!

Elton John Developing a 'Rocketman' Biopic with Writer of 'Billy Elliot'
Screenwriter and playright Lee Hall and iconic musician Elton John previously collaborated on the Broadway adaptation of the 2000 film Billy Elliot, but now the duo will take their talents to the big screen for a Rocketman, a project described as a biographical musical fantasy about the constantly bespectacled singer and songwriter. The film is said to weave together the life and music of John's career starting with his life as a child prodigy on the piano, moving through his rebellious teenage years and onto his iconic years as quite an outrageously dressed showman and one hell of a musician, singer and songwriter. More below.

Watch: First Full Teaser Trailer for Sam Worthington's 'Man on a Ledge'
"Today's the day that everything changes..." Summit has unveiled their first teaser trailer, which is pretty much a full-length trailer, for Man on a Ledge, the Sam Worthington man on a ledge film that, unlike The Ledge, also involves a diamond heist beyond just a man threatening to jump off of a building. The cast includes Genesis Rodriguez, Elizabeth Banks, Ed Harris and Jamie Bell. While I at least appreciate the intricacy of the setup, this does look a bit Hollywood campy, with all kinds of random action and cheesy dialogue, but I want to watch it, at least to see if they actually pull off the heist. Check out the trailer below!

More Nicolas Cage Madness: UK Trailer for Vigilante Thriller 'Justice'
"I represent an organization that loves this city, we were tired of watching it go to hell." A new trailer has hit the web via The Sun for an upcoming "tense thriller" titled Justice, which is one of many titles this has, including Seeking Justice and The Hungry Rabbit Jumps. It stars Nicolas Cage and January Jones as his wife, who gets assaulted, which enrages Cage, who meets an organization that "cleans up the city" but will ask a favor of him later. With Guy Pearce, Jennifer Carpenter, Harold Perrineau and Xander Berkeley. This doesn't look half bad, but it does seem a bit conventional. "We're just a few citizens seeking justice."

Watch: First Official Trailer for 'Big Miracle' with Barrymore & Krasinski
"You have whales in trouble and you didn't call me?!" Universal has debuted an official trailer via Apple for Big Miracle, the project formerly titled Everybody Loves Whales, starring John Krasinski and Drew Barrymore in another true story aquatic mammal rescuing inspirational drama, following up the likes of Dolphin Tale this year. This one, set in 1988, follows a story of three gray whales trapped up in the ice near Alaska, and a news reporter who tries to help rescue them. It's a weeper, that's for sure. The cast includes Tim Blake Nelson, Stephen Root, Vinessa Shaw, Ted Danson and Dermot Mulroney. Prepare to be inspired!
