Must Watch: Marvel's First Trailer for 'The Avengers' Gets Sweded!

The Avengers Trailer Sweded

In a classic Be Kind Rewind-style sweding, Bryan Harley has debuted his version of the first trailer for The Avengers - Sweded. It's a hilarious and revealing look at just how easy it is to mock—and recreate—the trailer for The Avengers (which you can see right here), in all its glorified cheesiness. The fantastic video also includes plenty of cardboard box props/backgrounds/costumes/vehicles and cheesy effects, music, and dialogue galore. I love the Iron Man flying scenes with the Mighty Muggs, too. This is just an entertaining follow-up to the trailer, and I'm glad to see Sweding still alive and kickin' with great work like this. Enjoy!

Watch: Two New Videos Featuring Spielberg & Jackson Talking 'Tintin'

Spielberg & Jackson & Tintin

We're going Tintin crazy! There's been a lot of updates for The Adventures of Tintin recently, and now we have some fun featurettes to watch today courtesy of THR (via Twitch) and HitFix. Both of the videos feature short new interviews with Steven Spielberg, who directed this first movie, and Peter Jackson, who produced it at Weta where the CG was rendered. You'll hear a few of the same stories, but both videos include some great quotes from these two legendary filmmakers in regards to their love for Tintin and his adventure-filled stories. "The medium is not the message here, the characters and story are." Watch below!

Watch: Spike's Action-Packed New TV Trailer for Lucasfilm's 'Red Tails'

Red Tails

"I'm the best pilot in the whole damn army!" Another new trailer that debuted during Spike TV's Scream Awards last night is for Lucasfilm's Red Tails, the WWII action drama about the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African-American pilots to fly in a combat squad during WWII. We've already seen a lot of trailers for this movie already, but I'm loving this, it has a classic action movie vibe to it and it's packed—and I mean packed—full of awesome moments and some of the greater bits of dialogue. The film stars Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Ne-Yo, Method Man, David Oyelowo and others. Fire it up, this looks great!

Watch: Second Trailer for 'Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows' Hits

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows Trailer

"Your clock is ticking." This is starting to look good, very good. Warner Bros just unveiled the second official trailer on Apple for Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, the sequel to his 2009 reinvention of Holmes. Starring Robert Downey Jr. once again as Holmes and Jude Law as Dr. Watson, he undertakes "the single most important case of my career" as they take on the legendary Moriarty. I have to say, this looks massive as hell, with huge castles, trains and more, and I just can't wait to see it. The cast includes Noomi Rapace, Stephen Fry, Kelly Reilly, Rachel McAdams and Jared Harris as Moriarty. Enjoy!

Watch: First TV Trailer for Daniel Radcliffe's 'Woman in Black' Chiller

The Woman in Black Trailer

"You've seen her haven't you?" Last night, Spike TV broadcast the Scream Awards, which included some trailer debuts during the show. One of them to hit was another official trailer for the horror thriller The Woman in Black, starring Daniel Radcliffe plus Janet McTeer, Roger Allam and Sophie Stuckey. The trailer, which is up on Spike, is only 60 seconds long but features a few new chills and creepy moments, and thankfully more Ciarán Hinds, too. If you really want to be creeped out, check out the motion poster on EW with some demon in the background. This looks even scarier, but still quite good, check it out below.

Adaptation of 'In the Dust' Features 1930's Vampires in the Dust Bowl

In the Dust

Now vampires may have overstayed their welcome throughout the past few years, but a big screen adaptation of a forthcoming graphic novel just might be fresh enough to make the overexposed monsters feel fresh again. Heat Vision has word that producer Stephen L'Heureux and his Solopsist Films banner has picked up the film rights to In the Dust, a graphic novel from Top Cow slated for release in 2012. Co-creator George Mahaffey will write the big screen adaptation of a story set against the 1930's Dust Bowl, when “black blizzards” obscured the Midwest and prairies. Guess where the vampires come from this time?

Channing Tatum Will Get Shot By Steve Carell for 'Foxcatcher' Drama

Channing Tatum

In a battle of sheer acting talent, there's likely no doubt that Steve Carell could certainly shoot a hole in the career of Channing Tatum. However, the Crazy, Stupid, Love star will take a different shot at the actor as 24 Frames has word that Tatum has landed the second male lead in the forthcoming drama Foxcatcher. Director Bennett Miller, who recently saw his film Moneyball hit theaters, is behind the drama which tells the true story of John du Pont (Carell) heir to the chemical company of the same name, who built a wrestling training facility called Team Foxcatcher on his estate and murdered one of the athletes. A Clever Tagline is Best Part of 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D' Poster

Texas Chainsaw Massacred 3D

The film may not see release until October of 2012, but since it's October right now, what better time to gear up for some terror at this time next year? That's what Lionsgate is thinking with their debut of the teaser poster for the sequel/pseudo-franchise reboot The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D. John Luesenhop (Takers) is bringing Leatherface back to the big screen, but this new film ignores every single sequel that came after the original 1973 film from Tobe Hooper and simply picks up after the end of the classic horror film to continue the story. The poster is kind of bland, but it has one damn great tagline. See it below!

Watch: 'Harry Potter' Documentary 'When Harry Left Hogwarts' Trailer

When Harry Left Hogwarts

Normally we don't cover such work as this, but with a franchise as epic as Hary Potter, a documentary chronicling the making of the multi-billion dollar series is just too good to pass up. In this case the feature won't be making a theatrical run, but the documentary entitled When Harry Left Hogwarts will  be available on one of the home video releases of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II (though we're not sure if it's on both the DVD and Blu-Ray). The filmmakers start by asking some of the star-studded cast like Helena Bonham Carter and what they think the documentary should be about.

Just Say No: The Importance of the Hero's Reluctance in Storytelling

Mary Elizabeth Winstead in The Thing

I saw The Thing this past weekend. The prequel/reboot mutation that just arrived in theaters, not the John Carpenter sci-fi horror masterpiece. I did not enjoy it for many reasons. Really, I did not enjoy it for every reason. But what held my ire most was one very simple moment. A moment in the first ten minutes of the film that stands so blatantly as a tone-setting sign post, a Campbellian action so telegraphed that for the scene to play out any other way than the precognition in my mind would be, I thought, impossible. Well, I was wrong. And for the rest of the movie's 103 minute running time, I couldn't figure out why. I still can't.
