Watch: Tom Hardy & Chris Pine Face-Off in 'This Means War' Trailer
Both Tom Hardy and Chris Pine have enjoyed quickly rising careers with films like Inception and Star Trek making them household names respectively. Now the two are facing off in this first trailer for the action comedy This Means War. Basically looking like a big budget version of Spy vs. Spy—which the trailer proudly claims—Hardy & Pine play to deadly CIA operatives who find out they've fallen for the same woman (Reese Witherspoon) and use their skills and endless resources to take each other out, make explosions and win the woman of their dreams. Looks like it should be fun, you can see for yourself below!

Johnny Depp & 'The Lone Ranger' Coming But Not Until May 31, 2013
Though surprising news came back in August that Disney had halted production on their big budget adaptation of The Lone Ranger starring Armie Hammer (The Social Network) as the titular hero and Johnny Depp as his sidekick Tonto, it sounded like the project might actually get back on track with a lower budget that included new deals for Johnny Depp, director Gore Verbinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer. That deal was made official earlier this week, but now the production delay means the film won't meet its original December 2012 release date, and will instead hit May 31st, 2013, for the summer.

Watch: First Red Band Teaser Trailer for 'American Reunion' Unveiled
"My mind's telling me no, but my body's telling me yess!" Of course that song. Universal has debuted the first official teaser trailer for American Reunion, the new American Pie sequel, and apparently it's a red band, but that's only for some basic sex innuendo jokes. While most of the cast from the original movie is back, this trailer only features the two leads - Jason Biggs as Jim and Alyson Hannigan as Michelle, now married, with kids. There's a quick masturbation joke and photo gallery, but it is just a tease and the first of many to come, I'm sure (no pun intended). If you've been waiting for this franchise to return, fire this up!

Another Fun Quad Set of Character Posters for Disney's 'The Muppets'
Use your best Don LaFontaine voice when reading these taglines aloud to yourself. Disney released another amusing character poster set for The Muppets, hitting theaters in just a few more months. This new look seems to be a series of UK posters via IMPAwards featuring plenty of lovable Muppet characters and some truly perfect taglines to go along with them. [There Will Be] Excitement, Romance, Attitude, Comedy — and plenty more — in the musical adventure extravaganza starring Jason Segel and Amy Adams as the main human characters. I'm just anxious/excited to finally see this, and I love all the marketing, can't wait!
3D 'Phantom Menace' Trailer is Showing Before 'The Three Musketeers'
Briefly: Trailer news! If you're interested, USA Today (via SlashFilm) has mentioned that the first 3D trailer for the re-release of George Lucas' Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace in 3D next February will be showing in front of Summit's The Three Musketeers (in 3D) in theaters on October 21st. It comes from an article on Darth Maul, who is making a return (teased here) on Clone Wars, only saying "the trailer will premiere in front of" Paul W.S. Anderson's Three Musketeers. I'm not sure if a trailer in 3D will end up online, but I'm sure they'll be putting out something for it eventually. And let us know if you see this trailer!

Official Trailer for Period Drama 'Albert Nobbs' Starring Glenn Close
"I think you are the strangest man I've ever met." Roadside Attractions has unveiled the first official trailer for Rodrigo García's Albert Nobbs, an emotional period drama starring Glenn Close as a woman posing as a man to disguise herself as a humble butler in Dublin, Ireland's most posh hotel during the late 19th century. Its a role that Close has studied and practiced for years, and will no undoubtedly get her great acclaim this awards season. The outstanding supporting cast includes Mia Wasikowska, Brendan Gleeson, Aaron Johnson, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Janet McTeer. Give this a shot, at least for Close's performance.

Watch: Michael Dougherty's New Halloween 'Trick 'r Treat' Short Film
One of my very favorite horror movies that I watch every Halloween is Trick 'r Treat, Mike Dougherty's cult classic-fan favorite Halloween anthology movie that got screwed on its release. While it did finally get a good DVD debut, Dougherty hasn't directed much since making that - except for this film. FEARnet (via SlashFilm) has debuted a new short film directed by Michael Dougherty titled Trick 'r Treat - Making Friends. It's an adorable, funny short made to celebrate Halloween and tells the story of a lonely kid who decides to make his own friends for Halloween. There's also a cameo by a certain familiar face. Check it out!

Keanu Reeves, Chloe Moretz & More in Scorsese Inspired Photospread
Previously we've seen some fantastic photospreads like Empire's Iconic Performance Recreated and Annie Leibovitz's spectacular live-action Disney shoots that call back to great films from the past. Now we have another phenomenal spread that calls back to the films of Martin Scorsese. Harper's Bazaar has an entire retrospective on the iconic director complete with comments from collaborators like Jodie Foster and Tom Cruise about working with the director (it's a great read), but the real treasure is this set of photos with actors like Keanu Reeves, Chloe Moretz and more recreating some scenes from Scorsese's films.

John Singleton May Be Bringing Tupac Shakur's Story to the Screen
We've seen the life story of Christopher 'Notorious B.I.G.' Wallace brought to life through 2009's Notorious, but now one-time friend, ultimate rival, and fellow rapper Tupac '2Pac' Shakur is getting his own biopic. And what better director to tell the rapper's tragic story than writer/director/friend John Singleton, who directed Shakur for his dramatic turn in 1993's Poetic Justice. Recently, we reported that Singleton could be taking on another hip-hop story he was close to with a film about N.W.A. that would be partly founded by Singleton's Boyz 'N the Hood star Ice Cube, but this hip-hip biopic might take priority now. More below!

Two New Face-to-Face 'Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows' Posters
We haven't seen or heard much more about Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows since the first trailer and poster set debuted back in July. Warner Bros has plenty of time to continue building up buzz before its December opening, and to kick start the marketing again, they've unveiled two character banners/posters via Yahoo. Once again we get a look at Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes and Jude Law as Watson, face-to-face. Though it should've been Holmes opposite of Moriarty, played by Jared Harris, and Watson opposite Sim, played by Noomi Rapace. Expect to see more from Game of Shadows soon! Excited?

Universal Succumbs to Movie Theaters, Cancels 'Tower Heist' VOD Plan
A victory for the movie theaters! Variety/The Wrap are reporting that Universal has officially backed down with their plans to release Brett Ratner's Tower Heist on Video On-Demand only three weeks after the movie hits theaters in November. We've been following this story since it was revealed a few weeks ago. Universal, trying to be progressive but going about it the wrong way, announced plans to show Tower Heist On-Demand for $59.99 in Atlanta and Portland three weeks after the theatrical release. Theaters, including namely Cinemark, threatened to boycott the film and not show it in any theaters if they followed through.
