Damian Lewis and Hayley Atwell Join Ray Winstone for 'The Sweeney'

Damian Lewis / Hayley Atwell

Over a year ago there were rumblings that big names like Tom Hardy, Daniel Craig and Ewan McGregor were being considered to star alongside Ray Winstone (The Departed) for a big screen adaptation of the classic British TV series The Sweeney. However, it sounds like none of those names have worked out since Baz Bamigboye reports the film is moving forward with Damian Lewis (from the new Showtime series "Homeland") and Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger). Steven Mackintosh ("Luther") and Paul Anderson (Sherlock Holmes 2) will also star in the film from director Nick Love. More below!

It's been around eight years since Bill Murray landed a much deserved Oscar nomination for his performance in Sofia Coppola's fantastic film Lost in Translation, and now the actor is set to work with the filmmaker's older brother on a new project. Variety reports Murray has just joined Roman Coppola's new drama A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III, the film marking the big screen return of troubled but recovering actor Charlie Sheen. In addition, Patricia Arquette and Mary Elizabeth Winstead will also star in the story that sounds familiar to those who have followed Sheen's recent antics.

Warner Bros. Snags Rights to Film Adaptation of 'The Scorpio Races'

The Scorpio Races

Studios are still on the hunt for the next franchise to take over the box office after The Twilight Saga goes away. The Hunger Games provides a nice outlet for Lionsgate to fill the void, and now Warner Bros. has picked up another property for a film adaptation. Heat Vision reports the studio has landed the movie rights to The Scorpio Races, a new young adult fantasy novel from Maggie Stiefvater which just hit shelves last week. The story follows the first female competitor in the titular races which utilize mythological flesh-eating horses from Celtic lore on an island where the woman falls in love with her horse trainer. Director Craig Gillespie Has Exited 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies'

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies / Craig Gillespie

All right, folks, time to shut it down. After news broke in August that Fright Night 3D director Craig Gillespie had left the production of the gestating adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, the story was quickly debunked as the filmmaker was supposedly still attached to helm the feature. Now it sounds like we're back to the original story again as Deadline has word that Gillespie has officially exited the seemingly troubled attempt to bring Seth Grahame-Smith's period romance remix of the classic Jane Austen novel that brings the love of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett under vicious attack from the walking dead.

Newest Poster for Ti West's Horror 'The Innkeepers' Brings the Chills

The Innkeepers

Some guests never check out. Though we've been writing about it since March, House of the Devil director Ti West's latest horror The Innkeepers is finally getting an official theatrical/VOD release later this year. We featured one stunning poster for this film before, just before premiered at SXSW earlier this year, but Entertainment Weekly has the latest one and it's just as eerie and chilling, as there's a not-so-hidden creepy face just ominously hovering over an otherwise quaint little hotel. Sara Paxton and Pat Healy star as the last employees at this creepy place about to close, but neither are seen on the poster. It's still a great design.

Video Blog: 'Ghost Protocol' Burj Khalifa IMAX Footage is Incredible

Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol

I love IMAX. Well, I truly love IMAX when it's shot in IMAX, which happens every so often. Thankfully, we have Brad Bird's Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, which features a number of action scenes shot in 70mm IMAX, coming up the end of this year. A week ago I was invited down to the Rave IMAX in LA to see roughly 20 minutes of footage from Ghost Protocol in IMAX - which just got a fantastic new trailer. We saw most of the Burj Khalifa outside scene and later sandstorm escape. If you haven't already guessed, I loved it, the footage was as thrilling, breathtaking, and just plain awesome, as you'd expect, especially in IMAX.

Watch: Badass New TV Spot for Fincher's 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

"She's different." A new 30 second TV spot has recently hit the web (via The Daily Blam) for David Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, starring Daniel Craig and featuring a score by Trent Reznor. I know TV spots are usually great sellers, but this one is quite awesome, especially because we finally get to see that over-the-head shot of Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander that I saw in the 8-minutes of footage, but wasn't in the 4-minute trailer released online. One of my favorite shots already and I still have yet to see the entire film! Not sure how anyone can't be excited for this after watching a badass TV spot like this. Check it out!
