New 'Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol' Poster with the Whole Gang

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol

No plan. No backup. No choice. Paramount/Bad Robot have unveiled another new official poster for Brad Bird's Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol. Following up the first two teaser posters that only featured Tom Cruise by himself in some form, either wearing a hoodie or hanging off of a building, this new one actually shows the entire MI team - Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, still front and center, flanked by Jeremy Renner as Brandt, Paula Patton as Carter and Simon Pegg in the rear as Benji, the comic relief. There's also lots of sand flying around, but I think we'll see more of that in a trailer coming Thursday. Check it out!

Watch: Official US Trailer for Ghibli's 'Secret World of Arrietty' Movie

The Secret World of Arrietty Trailer

No friendship is too small. Disney has unveiled the official US trailer for Studio Ghibli's animated adventure The Secret World of Arrietty, the latest Studio Ghibli feature, directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi, to get re-dubbed and released a year late in America. This version features a voice cast with Bridgit Mendler, Amy Poehler, Carol Burnett, Will Arnett, David Henrie and Moises Arias. We've already seen some trailers for this before, including the UK one recently with its own voice cast, but this still looks good no matter how they present it. It's a tale of two friends, and it looks great. Hitting US theaters in February!

Tom Cruise Talks Playing Jack Reacher in the Adaptation of 'One Shot'

Tom Cruise

While the more recent news of director Werner Herzog taking the villain role in Christopher McQuarrie's adaptation of Lee Child's novel One Shot was quite a mind-blowing piece of casting, there are some fans of the novel's recurring character Jack Reacher who are still more shocked that Tom Cruise is playing the character described as being 6'5" and weighing in at 250 pounds. Of course, it's hard to argue with the approval of Cruise's casting from the author himself, and the international superstar of an actor recently spoke with Empire and said that was a big determining factor in whether or not he would take the role.

'Salt' Director Phillip Noyce Making 'The Arrangement' After 'Timeless'

Phillip Noyce

Though we had heard earlier this year that Salt director Phillip Noyce would be at the helm of Hunter Killer, an adaptation of the forthcoming Navy SEALs thriller novel Firing Point, Antoine Fuqua has now come on to direct the film. Now Variety has word on another project Noyce will take on instead as Mandate Pictures as set the filmmaker to direct The Arrangement. The story follows a married woman who makes a deal to spend three days with a wealthy man in exchange for a loan and must choose between him and her husband. Sounds like an intriguing, original, more low key thriller that won't be as over-the-top as Salt.

Confirmed: 'TDKR' Prologue on 'Ghost Protocol' But Only 70MM IMAX

Bane in The Dark Knight Rises

Briefly: We now have official confirmation that the prologue for The Dark Knight Rises will be attached and playing in IMAX in front of Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol starting December 16. It was actually the theater chain AMC who confirmed, posting a message saying "AMC Theatres can confirm that this footage will be shown in front of Ghost Protocol on December 16th." However, they add that the footage will "only be shown on the higher resolution 70mm IMAX screens. Not the digital IMAX screens." Interesting - so only real 70mm IMAX, not "LieMAX" for the prologue. I bet this is going to look absolutely breathtaking.

Ben Affleck & Matt Damon Reunite for Gangster Whitey Bulger Biopic

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck

Back in February of 2010, it was said that Ben Affleck was circling The Trade as a project that would reunite the now successful director with his Good Will Hunting collaborator Matt Damon as part of a new deal for the duo's revamped production company set up at Warner Bros. Since then the project hasn't moved forward at all, but Affleck and Damon might come together on a different project set up at Warner Bros. first. Deadline has word that the duo are looking to tell the story of New England gangster Whitey Bulger with Affleck directing the film and also co-starring and producing with Damon who'll play Bulger himself.

Sony Pictures Looks to Aaron Sorkin to Script a Biopic on Steve Jobs

Aaron Sorkin / Steve Jobs

Just two days after the sad passing of technological innovator Steve Jobs, Sony Pictures was quick to snap up the rights to a biography by Walter Isaacson simply titled Steve Jobs with the intention of crafting a definitive biopic on the Apple and Pixar co-founder. Now it sounds like some heavy writing talent will adapt the book for film as 24 Frames has learned that The Social Network and A Few Good Men screenwriter Aaron Sorkin is being courted to write the biopic. Apparently this isn't a done deal yet, but after his success writing the story of Mark Zuckerburg and his creation of Facebook, it just seems like the perfect fit.

John Cusack Will Arrive at 'The Numbers Station' with Malin Akerman

John Cusack

Previously, it was Training Day star Ethan Hawke that was set to lead the new action thriller The Numbers Station, but now Variety has word that John Cusack has now snagged the lead role in the film from The Candidate director Kasper Barfoed. The project has been in development since September of 2010 when it was looking to get sold at the Toronto International Film Festival at the time, and actress Malin Akerman has stayed attached as the lead female role for over a year now. Hawke was originally producing the film too, but since he's no longer starring, it doesn't seem he's involved with the project at all.

Latest Official Poster for David Fincher's 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'

David Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

What is Hidden in Snow... An official poster has been revealed on the Mouth Taped Shut Tumblr (thanks to Awards Daily) for David Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. While it's not as provocative or nude as the first teaser poster, it's still some great artwork that merges the punk look of Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander and Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomkvist, plus the flower imagery seen recently in the viral that's an important part of the story. I like this poster, it reminds me of that other unused face-merging art, but it's not exactly my favorite design, too much going on in the middle. I'm sure we'll see even more soon.

Jason Sudeikis Joins Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis for 'Dog Fight'

Jason Sudeikis

Aside from being one of the better current cast members of the long-running late night sketch series "Saturday Night Live," comedian Jason Sudeikis has enjoyed some great supporting turns (ironically both with Charlie Day) in films like Horrible Bosses and Going the Distance. Now Risky Biz says the actor will reunite with "SNL" alum Will Ferrell and The Hangover star Zach Galifianakis for the new political comedy Dog Fight. Austin Powers franchise and Meet the Parents director Jay Roach is at the helm of the new film which follows rival politicians in a cutthroat election in a small congressional district in South Carolina.
