Ghost Rider Face of the Fan Contest

Columbia Pictures has launched a new contest today as part of the Face of the Fan contest series. Aspiring artists and Ghost Rider fans can create a movie poster that shows off their creativity and design skills in the Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance contest. Fans can download various stock fire photography (like that fiery chain above) and some art pieces from the movie to design their own poster. The studio is looking for fan art that captures the excitement of the legendary character. We're hosting our own design contest, but here's another being run by a Hollywood studio! Whoa, What? Lynne Ramsay Working on a Sci-Fi 'Moby Dick' Movie?

Lynne Ramsay / Moby Dick

This sounds like something I already can't wait to see. The Playlist found quotes and a reveal in an interview with We Need to Talk About Kevin director Lynne Ramsay on Simon Mayo & Mark Kermode's BBC 5Live radio show (here) about her next project. Apparently it's a sci-fi take on Herman Melville's classic Moby Dick, but it all takes place inside of one ship. "I'm working on something loosely based on that. And it's science-fiction, so we're taking the premise into the galaxy. So we're creating a whole new world, and a new alien," she says, after musing "this is really the first time I've spoken about, it's been very under wraps."

Joseph Gordon-Levitt's 'Premium Rush' Pushed Back to Summer 2012

Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Premium Rush

Briefly: A release update that might interest a few of you. Sony/Columbia has rescheduled David Koepp's Premium Rush, the bike messenger "action movie" starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt (trailer), to a late summer August 24th, 2012 release instead of the originally planned January 13. I always felt that was an odd spot, especially after seeing the trailer, it fits better in the summer. It just sucks that we have to wait another 8 months, I really wanted to see this! Also stars Michael Shannon, Jamie Chung, Dania Ramirez and Aasif Mandvi, written and directed by David Koepp. As of this moment, nothing else is set for the 24th.

Check This Out: Official Poster for Martin Scorsese's 'Hugo' Revealed

Hugo Poster

One of the most legendary directors of our time takes you on an extraordinary adventure. Much more of a sentence than a tagline! The official theatrical poster for Martin Scorsese's Hugo adaptation in 3D has been revealed on Moviefone and it's definitely something you need to see. The classic design features Asa Butterfield as Hugo Cabret hanging from a clock hand, like we've seen in the trailer. The vintage design is inspired by the classic silent era and films like Harold Lloyd's Safety Last. It's a unique and eye-catching design and I'm glad they chose to go with something like this over the typical designs. Check it out below!

Family of River Phoenix Denies Involvement with 'Dark Blood' Release

River Phoenix

Just a few days ago, we brought you news of director George Sluizer's plans to finally share with the world Dark Blood, his unreleased 1993 film that features the last remaining performance of the late River Phoenix (the young actor tragically died of a drug overdose with only 11 days left on the production of the film). Sluizer said that he planned to enlist the help of brother Joaquin Phoenix to provide ADR to substitue for River's voice and had remained in close contact with the Pheonix family, leading us to believe the release had their full support and cooperation. According to them, that doesn't seem to be the case at all.

Jim Henson's Old Crew Not Pleased with Jason Segel's 'The Muppets'

The Muppets

There's no doubt that the countless fake trailers leading up to to the release of The Muppets have been some of the best marketing for a film this year. However, apparently there are those who aren't too pleased with the way the film from writers Jason Segel and Nicolas Stoller and director James Bobin. THR has quite an extensive story about some of the veteran members of Jim Henson's old guard from the heyday of everyone's favorite puppets, and they don't seem to think this new film respects the characters they made iconic decades ago. From the humor to some of the plot points, apparently it's just not up to their standards.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Talks to Board Tarantino's 'Django Unchained'

Joseph Gordon-Levitt

If the cast of Quentin Tarantino's forthcoming spaghetti western Django Unchained is already pretty damn impressive with names like Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L Jackson, Kurt Russell and Don Johnson all ready to saddle up for the film. Now Variety reports that Inception and The Dark Knight Rises star Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in talks to join the cast as well. It's not mentioned what role he would be taking, and this isn't exactly a done deal yet since he would have to sort out some scheduling issues that would stop him from shooting when production begins in New Orleans in January.

Watch: First Trailer for Angelina Jolie's 'In the Land of Blood & Honey'

In the Land of Blood and Honey

Back in May we learned that Film District would be behind the release of In the Land of Blood and Honey, the directorial debut of actress Angelina Jolie. Since then the film hasn't made the rounds to any festivals or promoted itself with as so much a poster or even first look stills. Well, the film may just need to speak for itself in the first trailer that just landed which puts it in the running for plenty of Academy Awards this season. Set against the backdrop of the Bosnian War the film shows the consequences and pain that results from the lack of political will to intervene in a society stricken with conflict. See the trailer below!
