Impressive New Artistic Poster for Zhang Yimou's 'The Flowers of War'
Take a look at the new promo poster for Zhang Yimou's The Flowers of War, the Chinese historical epic starring Christian Bale as an American priest in Nanking who shelters a group of prostitutes and female students in his church in 1937. We've seen an epic first trailer for this, so we know what to expect at least. Wrekin Hill just picked up the film for US distribution and is giving it an Oscar run in December before a wide release next year. This poster takes the floral imagery already associated with this (see this poster) and recreates it as something that looks like a bomb/bullet with its impact ripple turned into pedals. See below!

Review: Adam Sandler's 'Jack and Jill' is As Awful As You Expected
Sometimes a movie will come along that irks you, causes the veins on your head to pop out with frustration to such an extent that you don't even want to mull it over for days before blasting it with an angry retort. I'd like to take a moment and congratulate Adam Sandler and Dennis Dugan, an actor/director combo that usually brings out this kind of ire but never like this. Never like this. The movie is Jack and Jill. The premise is ridiculous. Sandler plays both Jack Sadelstein, family man and ad exec living in L.A. with his wife—a characterless mannequin that looks an awful lot like Katie Holmes—and two children, and Jill

Watch This: Exciting New TV Spot for Spielberg's 'Adventures of Tintin'
"Mr. Tintin, we've been expecting you." With December just around the corner, it's time for a marketing blitz to start hitting television, radio and all other forms of media as the forthcoming release of The Adventures of Tintin is on the horizon. Many who have seen the film agree that the motion-capture animated adaptation is pure Steven Spielberg, and it feels like the Indiana Jones sequel that should have been made instead of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. All that seems to be very clear in this great new TV spot, and it looks like this is going to be quite an action-packed adventure to behold. Watch the TV spot below!

Ralph Fiennes Gets Bloody on UK Poster for Shakespeare 'Coriolanus'
We've already seen a stylish poster and a fantastic trailer from across the pond for the modern-day set adaptation of William Shakespeare's 17th century play Coriolanus, but now director and star Ralph Fiennes looks even more intimidating than his turn as Lord Voldemort in a new quad poster from the United Kingdom. With dried blood all over his face, it's clear that Coriolanus (Fiennes) has seen some brutal military action. This looks like it could be the most successful contemporary Shakespeare adaptation since Baz Luhrmann's take on Romeo + Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. See the poster below!

Writer Stephen Gaghan Polishing Shyamalan's 'One Thousand A.E.'
With production start on M. Night Shyamalan's sci-fi film One Thousand A.E. just around the corner in February of 2012, it's about that time for the script to be ready to go in front of the camera. Thankfully, some great writing talent has given some finishing touches to the script as Variety reports Traffic writer Stephen Gaghan has just finished polishing the script for Sony Pictures and Overbrook Entertainment, the production banner of Will Smith who is starring in the film along with his son Jaden Smith (The Karate Kid). What's truly exciting is that this is the first film that Shymalan didn't write himself. Read on!

First Look: Jeremy Irvine as Pip in Mike Newell's 'Great Expectations'
Just last week we got or first look at Helena Bonham Carter as Miss Havisham with a couple of haunting photos from the forthcoming adaptation of Charles Dicken's classic novel Great Expectations from director Mike Newell (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Mona Lisa Smile). Now we have our first look at Jeremy Irvine (who will certainly break out in War Horse next month) as the main character of an orphan named Pip in a story that spans 30 years of his life as he encounters a peculiar cast of characters like an escaped convict named Magwitch (Ralph Fiennes) and a reclusive woman named Miss Havisham.

Watch: Entire Animated Cyberpunk Sci-Fi Short 'ROSA' Now Online
It's time to meet Rosa. Are you ready? Following up the initial trailer we featured back in September, Jesus Orellana's animated cyberpunk sci-fi short ROSA can now be viewed in its entirety for free online. ROSA is an epic sci-fi short film that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where all natural life has disappeared. From the destruction awakes Rosa, a cyborg deployed from the Kernel project, mankind's last attempt to restore the earth's ecosystem. I was sent numerous emails about this saying I have to post it, so here it is for your viewing pleasure. Orellana also confirms this will be turned into a live-action movie, too. See it below!

Interview: Director Tarsem Singh Talks 'Immortals' & Creative Control
Oh boy, this a good one. I've been excited for Immortals since the first teaser trailer hit, primarily because of how visually stunning it looks, which is why one of the people I really wanted to talk with was director Tarsem Singh, the man behind it all. Born in India, he's known as the visionary filmmaker behind the The Cell and The Fall previously, as well as Mirror Mirror coming up, and lots of commercials work. He's a very funny, outgoing, fascinating guy to speak with in-person and this interview certainly shows that, as we cover ground from test screenings, to using CGI, to why Snow White next, to shooting on location and much more.

Universal Picks Up Rights to Adapt 'Lunatics' for Steve Carell to Lead
Another day, another project for Steve Carell who seems to be in popular demand in the film world now that he's all finished with "The Office." Deadline has word that Universal Pictures has picked up the rights to Dave Barry and Alan Zweibel's novel Lunatics as a starring vehicle for Carell which the actor will also produce through his Carousel production company. The book, which is set to be published on January 10, 2012 (you can pre-order it right here), follows a couple of soccer dads in New Jersey who get into a minor scuffle that somehow escalates into an Earth-shattering event that sounds more than a little outrageous.

Must Watch: Badass Trailer for Action Film 'Safe' with Jason Statham
"That girl does not leave this city." Whoa, this looks awesome! Lionsgate has debuted the official theatrical trailer for Safe, written & directed by Boaz Yakin (Remember the Titans), starring Jason Statham as a former elite agent who rescues and protects a young Chinese girl from every mob and corrupt person in New York. It's kind of like Taken in reverse, where he's got to protect and get her out of there. I know Statham has been getting a little repetitive/stale in action movies these days, but this looks like the awesome return to intense action within a great story that we've been waiting for. It really gets amped up at the end - enjoy!

Billy Crystal Will Now Be Hosting the 84th Annual Academy Awards!
Well, that was fast. Just one day after Eddie Murphy relinquished his hosting duties for the 84th Annual Academy Awards following the controversial departure of producer Brett Ratner, Deadline is reporting that past host and comedy legend Billy Crystal will return to the Oscar stage next year. Doesn't sounds like the Academy is too worried about bringing in that young demographic as when they had James Franco and Anne Hathaway host the ceremony last year, and while I would've preferred The Muppets (who have a Twitter and Facebook campaign for support) take over hosting duties, Crystal is an old favorite of mine.
