'A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas' Crew Lipdubs 'Party in the U.S.A.'
When you're dealing with a movie that has Danny Trejo in an ugly Christmas sweater, a baby covered in cocaine, a robot that makes waffles, and a drug-induced claymation sequence, there's really no need to ask why the crew of A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas (which has a 75% score on Rotten Tomatoes right now) decided to put together a lipdub to the tune of Miley Cyrus' pop song Party in the U.S.A. It's just something that happens. Director Todd Strauss-Schulson (@TheRealTSS on Twitter) even gets in on the lip syncing action himself in a video that takes him and the crew all the way to the premiere of the film.

Brett Ratner Resigns as Oscars Producer After Sparking Controversy
After the official announcement that Eddie Murphy would be hosting the 84th annual Academy Awards next year with filmmaker Brett Ratner producing the live telecast, recent events have transpired that have resulted in the loss of one of those talents. While Murphy is usually the one to offend with films like Norbit and Daddy Day Care, this time it's Ratner who has offended with inappropriate remarks that have essentially forced him to resign as producer of the Academy Awards ceremony. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences made the announcement today, and Ratner also released an official statement.

New Three-Way Banner for 'Snow White and the Huntsman' Revealed
On the completely opposite spectrum as Tarsem Singh's "sickeningly kiddie" take on Snow White, we have Universal's dark, Lord of the Rings-like epic take on Snow White as well. This one, titled Snow White and the Huntsman and directed by up-and-comer commercials filmmaker Rupert Sanders, stars Kristen Stewart as a "gritty, badass" Snow White in this one. While we saw some character profiles at Comic-Con, Universal has just revealed on Twitter (via ComingSoon) the first full three-character banner for the movie, featuring Stewart as well as Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman and Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen.

MGM Ordering Up Some of Adam Green's 'Killer Pizza' Adaptation
Now this is a project that sounds like it could be awesome! Deadline reports that MGM is in talks to acquire a spec script adaptation from filmmaker Adam Green of Greg Taylor's 2009 novel Killer Pizza. Green is the fan-favorite indie horror director of Hatchet I & II and Frozen and it sounds like he'll be directing this, too. It's likely that Rafaella De Laurentiis (DragonHeart, The Last Legion) will produce with 1492 Pictures and CJ Entertainment. It sounds like such a great concept for a kid-focused horror, about a 14-year old boy who lands a summer job at a pizza place that's actually a front for a monster hunting organization. Read on!

Watch: Whimsical New Australian Trailer for Illumination's 'The Lorax'
It all started a long, long time ago... Let's learn the story of the trees! A brand new Australian trailer for Illumination Entertainment's animated take on Dr. Seuss' The Lorax has landed online, courtesy of MSN UK (via Vlicious). In this one we get a different assembly of footage than the first teaser, starting with the young Ted (voiced by Zac Efron) asking to hear the story of the Truffula trees, which is when we actually get to meet the "legendary, slightly annoying" Lorax, voiced by Danny DeVito. Beyond that I'm not sure where this is going, but it looks fun in only a way Illumination could deliver, and I mean that in a good way.

Stephen King Novel 'Rose Madder' Being Adapted for the Big Screen
There are numerous big screen Stephen King adaptations, from the really good (The Shining) to the really bad (unfortunately there are too many of these to list but here's one for you...Dreamcatcher) and the "Oh yea, he did write those didn't he?!" (The Shawshank Redemption , The Green Mile) in between. But somehow, King's Rose Madder has evaded the feature film treatment until now. Variety is reporting that Palomar Pictures and Grosvenor Park are working on an adaptation of the 1995 novel with screenwriter Naomi Sheridan, writer of In America and daughter of My Left Foot director Jim) scripting the project.

Now THR reports that the director is setting his sights on something he hasn't done before: a heist film called Airtight and a drama surrounding Proposition 8. More details below!

Charming Poster for Crowe's 'We Bought a Zoo' Needs No Star Power
One of the worst trends in poster design comes in the form of floating heads, and that usually comes when a romance or drama arrives that can't easily be conveyed in a single image (or imply lacks a creative team to do so). Many of these types of posters can be seen in our recent highlight of common trends in Hollywood movie posters, but thankfully, We Bought a Zoo, the promising drama from Cameron Crowe starring Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson doesn't need the faces of its good-looking leads, but rather just a simple image that could even double as a cover for the book on which the film is based. See it in full below!

"You want to get out of here? I can take you somewhere..." Fox Searchlight has unveiled today a gorgeous new website (tip to Awards Daily) for their awards season heavyweight Shame, written/directed by Steve McQueen, starring Michael Fassbender in one of the best performances of his career. As expected with Searchlight, they let the film and its visuals (and that amazing score you'll hear) speak for itself, along with numerous critics' quotes planted throughout, including one from myself (see the screenshot below) from my glowing Telluride review. I really love this film, and I'm more than happy to point out its sleek new website.

Jason Segel Hopes to Make Kids Adventure Movie Similar to 'Goonies'
Since the star of Forgetting Sarah Marshall and I Love You, Man is in the midst of trying to give The Muppets their promising big screen comeback, maybe Jason Segel is the right guy to also bring back the action and adventure that once inhabited family friendly films back in the 80's. That's what the actor is hoping as The Playlist recently spoke with Segel who revealed that he's just bought back his first-ever script that he sold when he was just 21-years old. Though he's not exactly forthcoming with the details, he did say that it would be a kids adventure style film in the same vein as The Goonies and Labyrinth. More below!
