Fantastic Poster for Angelina Jolie's 'In the Land of Blood and Honey'
Just last month the impressive first trailer for the Bosnian War romantic drama In the Land of Blood and Honey, the directorial debut of Angelina Jolie, showed us that the actress seems to have just as much talent behind the camera as she does in front of it. Now the film starring Zana Marjanović (Snow), Rade Šerbedžija (Snatch) and Goran Kostic (Taken) has an impressive poster with contrasting imagery of a blood splatter forming the romantic embrace of two lovers struggling to stay together in the middle of their war-torn land. The film should make a splash at the Academy Awards next year. See the poster below!

John Lithgow Joining Galifianakis and Ferrell for 'Dog Fight' Comedy
Over the past few years, the incomparable John Lithgow has taken on some great roles in the Showtime series "Dexter," not to mention this year's turn in Rise of the Planet of the Apes and a forthcoming appearance in New Year's Eve. Now Lithgow teaming up with some comedy giants as Variety reports the "3rd Rock from the Sun" star has taken a role in Dog Fight, the political comedy from director Jay Roach following Zach Galifianakis and Will Ferrell as two rival politicians running for a congressional seat in a small North Carolina district election. However, it's not clear what specific role Lithgow will be taking.

Check This Out: The United States as Defined By Documentary Films
While most films aim to tell stories as a means of escape from the real-world, there are those that instead choose to take us to places we may have never gone and introduce us to people we would have never known. These are documentary films, and some paint such an impacting picture that people easily identify a certain location with the documentary film that put it on the map. Now the PBS documentary blog POV (via Movies.com) literally has that map containing poignant and popular documentary films to represent each of the 50 states in the United States of America. Find out which documentary defines your home state below!

Interview: 'Muppets' Producers David Hoberman & Todd Lieberman
This is what we call the Muppet Show! Arriving in theaters this week is Disney's The Muppets, the return of everyone's favorite Jim Henson puppets, starring Jason Segel, Amy Adams and just about every Muppet you can remember, plus newcomer Walter. But how did this movie even get made? I interviewed David Hoberman & Todd Lieberman, who together run Mandeville Films and produced The Muppets movie we're now seeing up on the big screen. We spoke about what went into creating this Muppets movie and the challenges, and briefly about the Phineas & Ferb movie at the end, which they're making next. View below!

Killer Creature Revealed in a New Photo from Disney's 'John Carter'
It's been awhile since the first trailer for John Carter release back in July gave us a glimpse at the world of WALL-E and Finding Nemo director Andrew Stanton's venture into live-action sci-fi with a bit of a western flavor. There were a couple interesting creatures to behold, but now a new photo from EW gives us a full glimpse and some sort of giant, killer creature that likely is meant to kill John Carter (Taylor Kitsch) in this rocky arena. Hopefully this new image means we'll be getting a longer more revealing trailer sometime soon (perhaps with The Muppets in theaters today?). Either way, check out the new photo below!

The Grateful Dead Getting 'Across the Universe' Musical Treatment
After putting together a deal that allowed for the use of no less than 20 tunes for The Beatles inspired musical Across the Universe from Julie Taymor, Deadline reports literary agent Bruce Kaufman is putting together a similar deal with access to the entire musical catalog of The Grateful Dead for another narrative feature film structured around the iconic band's music. Kaufman is working closely with trusted colleagues of the band including archivist David Lemiux and Mark Pinkus, the general manager of Grateful Dead Properties at Rhino Entertainment who has exclusive management of the band's intellectual property.

James Wan Chooses 'Hitman' Director to Take on 'House of Horror'
Though Hitman essentially became a slave to the trend of disappointments we've come to expect from video game adaptations, director Xavier Gens has a solid reputation in horror after helming the cringeworthy (in a good way) French film Frontiers. The director's post-apocalyptic thriller The Divide will hit theaters in January, but his next film will bring him back to the genre in which he's been most successful. Shock Til You Drop reports producer James Wan (the director of Saw and Insidious) has signed Gens to direct his new flick House of Horror, the first of a whole slate of horror films coming from Wan and Icon Entertainment.

Watch: Official Trailer for Edward Burns' Marriage Drama 'Newlyweds'
"We need to get as far away from any of our relatives as possible." Perfect for Thanksgiving week, right? An official trailer has debuted on Apple for the film Newlyweds, a new indie romantic drama starring and directed by Edward Burns, who you may recognize as an actor, but has been a director for a while as well. It's a drama about newlyweds, obviously, who get disrupted by Burns' half-sister, learning what it means to be married in the process. The cast includes Caitlin FitzGerald as his other half, Linda, Kerry Bishe as the sister, plus Max Baker. This looks rather quirky and entertaining for an indie, so give it a shot. Enjoy!

WB Now Wants Ken Watanabe for The Colonel in 'Akira', Not Oldman
"It's a soldier's duty. You wouldn't understand." Oh, the casting for this project is all over the place. Twitch is reporting that Warner Bros' live-action Akira project, which supposedly had TDK's Gary Oldman pretty close to playing The Colonel, is now looking elsewhere (he even mentions in this video it wasn't a done deal anyway). Word is that they're intent on getting Ken Watanabe (Batman Begins, Letters from Iwo Jima, Inception) to star, and have offered him the role. I've got to be honest, I'd love to see him take this, I think he'd be a great fit. Garrett Hedlund is already attached to play Kaneda, along with Kristen Stewart as Kei.

Review: 'The Muppets' Brings Magic to the Lovers, the Dreamers & Me
"It's time to play the music. It's time to light the lights. It's time to meet the Muppets on The Muppet Show tonight." For five years, those lyrics and the theme song they begin played before vast audiences who fell in love with the characters Jim Henson and his crew brought to life on television each week. Then, steadily, from 1979 to 1999, the Muppets played before audiences in a myriad of feature films. For millions of fans, the Muppets represent something more than nostalgia, a fleeting feeling of where we were and what we were consuming in our daily lives. The Muppets were characters who made us laugh, cry, and enjoy life

Fresh scans of the latest Entertainment Weekly issue have popped up on Bloody-Disgusting and include four new never-before-seen photos. A few may remember hearing about a giant head set piece - well now it's revealed, twice! There is one humongous shot with the full head, and another with it in the "Ampule Room." I think this might mean we'll finally see a trailer soon, but as a last minute Thanksgiving tease, these are some exciting photos to see.
