Stylish New 'Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol' IMAX Poster Arrives
If only we could make the theme music play, too. For those of you attending a midnight IMAX show of Brad Bird's Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol this week, Paramount has a treat for you. IGN has debuted a minimalistic art poster designed by Matt Owen (through Gallery1988) specifically for the midnight IMAX openings, and apparently "anyone attending" the midnight IMAX events can/will get one of these - sweet! But it might be a totally different color, as they say this version they've got is the "black background" version and it comes in red and black. So it's red? This message will self destruct in five seconds... please view now!

The Black List 2011 Revealed: Most Popular Unproduced Screenplays
Once again as we near the end of the year, another list we get is The Black List, the annual list of the most popular "unproduced" screenplays of 2011 (because some of these are going into production soon). The Black List was compiled from the suggestions of over 300 film executives, each of whom contributed the names of up to ten of their favorite scripts "that were written in, or are somehow uniquely associated with, 2011 and will not have begun principal photography during this calendar year." Screenplays had to receive at least six mentions to be included on The Black List this year. Here we go - Top 20 (via Deadline) below.

Captivating New Photos from Sci-Fi 'Upside Down' with Jim Sturgess
Whoa. This looks quite interesting - why isn't it premiering at Sundance in January? Damn. Our friends at JimSturgessOnline.com have a batch of fantastic new photos from Juan Solonas' sci-fi romance film Upside Down, starring Jim Sturgess as a man searching an alternate universe for a long-lost love from his youth, played by Kirsten Dunst. We've had one intriguing first look at this indie sci-fi before, but nothing like this, as these new photos look quite spectacular. It tells the story of two star crossed lovers Adam and Eve "separated by opposite worlds, one up and one down, but both just out of reach of the other."

Charlotte Gainsbourg to Star in Lars von Trier's 'The Nymphomaniac'
At first everyone got excited thinking it was going to be the other star of Melancholia, Kirsten Dunst, who was going to star in this tantalizingly-titled film. But now according to Variety, Charlotte Gainsbourg is "in talks" to star in Lars von Trier's new film, The Nymphomaniac, an "explicit exploration of a woman's erotic life." If you thought her "explicit exploration" in Antichrist was enough already (that was her, too), then just wait until you hear what he's cooking up with this. The actor and filmmaker worked together on Antichrist and Melancholia, and will continue that partnership, with shooting slated for next summer/fall.

Short New International Trailer for Laika's Stop-Motion 'ParaNorman'
"Do you see ghosts, like, all the time?!" Focus Features has debuted another short new international trailer for Laika's ParaNorman, their upcoming stop-motion animated horror comedy starring Norman, just a normal boy who can speak to the dead. The first US teaser trailer was debuted back in October, but this new one is a bit different and sheds a bit of light on the story and Norman as a character. Norman is voiced by Kodi Smit-McPhee and while this international trailer does have subtitles on it, they at least use the original English voices as well. This looks like so much fun, can't wait to see more over the next year. Enjoy!

Nick Frost Says Final Film in 'Cornetto' Trilogy Might Shoot Next Year
If you're a big fan of Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, you should already know what the Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy is, also known as the Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy. The first film was Shaun of the Dead, the second was Hot Fuzz, and the third is yet to come, but all three star Simon Pegg & Nick Frost and are directed by Edgar Wright. We've been waiting for, and reporting on, the third film ever since Hot Fuzz came out in '07. ComingSoon recently caught up with Nick Frost and got an update on the third film, which he said might shoot next year, as there's already a script, which we know as The World's End.

Watch: First Teaser Trailer for Will Smith's New 'Men in Black 3' Hits
"Who are we? We are no one." Columbia has unveiled the first teaser trailer this morning (via YouTube) for Men in Black 3, the latest sequel in the MIB sci-fi comedy series, once again starring Will Smith as Agent J, and introducing Josh Brolin as the younger Agent K. Oh and "Agent K" is definitely still in this, Tommy Lee Jones' K, only briefly though. We've heard this sequel has gone through a lot of production problems and it shows, this looks a bit rough, almost made-for-TV. What happened? The first movie was so damn good, how did it devolve into this? Give it a shot anyway, I truly hope it turns out better next summer.

Indie Trailer Sunday: David Gelb's 'Jiro Dreams of Sushi' Documentary
At a tiny sushi bar in a Tokyo subway... 85 year old Jiro Ono is renowned as the world's greatest sushi chef and filmmaker David Gelb has made a documentary about him. Jiro Dreams of Sushi is a doc about father and son sushi masters, continuing their legacy running their small sushi restaurant in Tokyo, all the while pursuing a quest to create the perfect piece of sushi. This looks like a wonderful doc, especially if you love sushi and the art of sushi. It also looks like a great human story about a father and son, and the honor they have together being masters of this art. As always with an Indie Trailer Sunday, this is worth watching.

Check These Out: Three New Shakespeare-Filled 'Coriolanus' Banners
"He is a lion That I am proud to hunt." More Shakespeare is coming to the big screen again soon, following Roland Emmerich's Anonymous, though I'm not sure how many people, if any, saw that flick (it was pretty good). If you haven't forgotten about it, Ralph Fiennes' Coriolanus is getting a wider release in theaters in late January, though it's out in NY/LA now. A few new banners were posted on the official Facebook that feature a couple of great Shakespeare lines used in the film. Gerard Butler co-stars as Tullus Aufidius, with Jessica Chastain and Vanessa Redgrave as Coriolanus' wife and mother. See the banners below.

Badass New Bane Teaser Poster for 'The Dark Knight Rises' Unveiled!
The Legend Ends. So Warner Bros unveils a rather kick ass new teaser poster for The Dark Knight Rises on the official website this morning, and no one notices until the afternoon. Well, here it is, the new teaser poster for Chris Nolan's epic finale to his Batman saga. In unison with next week's IMAX prologue debut in front of M:I4, this poster features Bane in the background and a broken Batman mask in the foreground, plus that tagline. I'm pretty sure this is not a spoiler or anything, but it is pretty badass. I can also tell you that shattered mask shows up in the montage of footage at the end of the prologue, too. This is awesome.

First Look: Period Costumes & Photos for P.T. Anderson's 'The Master'
One film that I know many cinephiles are looking forward to coming next year is Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master, his follow-up to There Will Be Blood, essentially about Scientology, following an intellectual known as "the Master" (Philip Seymour Hoffman) whose "faith-based organization" nurtures a following in America in the 50s. We reported earlier this week that Jonny Greenwood would be back to score the film, as it was filmed this fall and PTA is currently editing. In the meantime, I recently came across an interesting selection of B&W photos via BlackBook that photographer Jack Erling snapped while on a set of this film.
