New 'American Reunion' Poster Remakes Original 'American Pie' Poster
With the return of the original cast from the sex comedy franchise American Pie in the mix for next year's release of American Reunion, this sequel is all about nostalgia. From the photo booth video to the teaser poster with the violated pie, it's clear this one is going to be about fond memories of the franchise's past and also more raunchy sexual humor. This new poster for the film has more of the former than the latter as it perfectly recreates the image from the original films' poster with the whole gang on the front, but where there once was a flute there's a baby bottle, and the pie doesn't seem to be deflowered. See the poster below!

Watch: First Wacky Trailer for 'Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted'
Our last adventure with Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo, and Melman the Giraffe didn't see our zoo animal heroes return home to NYC, and now the crew seems to be getting into trouble on another continent in the teaser trailer for Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted which brings back Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith as the aforementioned wild animals. But this time Frances McDormand joins the action as a French law enforcement official in hot pursuit of our heroes and, of course, those wacky penguins and Sacha Baron Cohen as the lemur King Julien. Watch it!

Sacha Baron Cohen Will Be Monsieur Thenardier in 'Les Miserables'
While we're still waiting to hear whether "Glee" and Broadway star Lea Michele, singer-turned-actress Taylor Swift, Scarlett Johansson or Evan Rachel Wood will take the part of Eponine in Tom Hooper's adaptation of the classic Broadway musical Les Miserables, another key male role has just been filled. London Net (via The Playlist) has learned that Sacha Baron Cohen, who belted out tunes with success in Tim Burton's adaptation of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, will lend his voice to the project as Monsieur Thernardier opposite Anne Hathaway as Fantine and Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean.

First Look + Poster: Mel Gibson in 'How I Spent My Summer Vacation'
Now I know one reason this has been in the can so long - that awful, cliche 90s title makes it sound about as average as it can get! Please, change it to something else. Our friends at The Playlist via The Film Stage have scored the first poster for a film called How I Spent My Summer Vacation. That is indeed the title and it hasn't been called anything else, as this was shot in 2009 in Mexico starring Mel Gibson and Peter Stormare, but has been waiting for release ever since. The poster isn't particularly that exciting, neither is the first look (seen above), but considering I had never heard about this until today, it is our true first look.

Dan Gilroy Writing Stan Lee's Chinese Superhero Film 'The Annihilator'
Plenty of work from the mind of Stan Lee is already on the big screen in the form of comic book films like X-Men: First Class, Captain America: The First Avenger, Iron Man, Thor, The Incredible Hulk and forthcoming blockbusters like The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man. However, one of the comic book creators project from overseas will be the next project to get the feature film treatment as Deadline reports Dan Gilroy, who worked on the script for Real Steel and wrote The Bourne Legacy for his brother, director Tony Gilroy, will write the The Annihilator about a Chinese superhero for Magic Storm Entertainment.

Tom Cruise Discusses His Desire to Make 'Top Gun 2' with Tony Scott
It's been over a year since we learned that Tony Scott was apparently attached to return to the adrenaline-fueled, high-flying action flick Top Gun with Tom Cruise back in the cockpit for a sequel. Since then, there haven't been any real developments on the project and Scott has taken on plenty more projects under his wing. However, while making the rounds promoting Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, the star of the 1986 film revealed his motivation behind kicking the tires and lighting the fires again. The good news is they want it to have the "same kind of tone as the other one and shoot it in the same way as we shot Top Gun."

Robin Williams Says 'Mrs. Doubtfire' & 'Birdcage' Sequels Possible?
After providing his endless array of voices for Happy Feet 2, the energetic Robin Williams recently revealed to Moviehole that a couple more sequels from some of his older films could actually end up getting off the ground. While neither of the projects necessarily warrant a follow-up, both Mrs. Doubtfire and The Birdcage are fantastic comedies in their own right, and maybe audiences will want to revisit Williams' characters from each of those films. For those interested, it doesn't sound like Mrs. Doubtfire 2 has any life left in her old bones, but The Birdcage 2 is apparently still being played with in some capacity. More below!

It Never Ends! Lionsgate Exec Says 'Saw' Franchise is Not Done Yet
Haven't they had enough after seven movies! This isn't a set-in-stone, kind of it's-coming-next-year bit of news, but it's basically a hint that Jigsaw is still alive—the Saw series, not the guy, though I would love to see him back one day. Bloody-Disgusting (via SlashFilm) caught mention of the Saw series in a new CNBC interview on this week (video here) with Lionsgate Vice Chairman Michael Burns. Alas, it wasn't much, but he said at one point: "I'm sure, some day, you'll see Saw back in the picture." As a reminder, this was the first Halloween in seven years that we haven't seen a new Saw film, as Paranormal Activity has taken over.

Edgar Ramirez is Now Next in Line to Play 'Star Trek' Sequel Villain?
Now that they couldn't get Benicio Del Toro, for whatever reason that fell through, J.J. Abrams is looking elsewhere to cast his villain in the Star Trek sequel, and Variety says he's got two other frontrunners. The primary one is Édgar Ramírez (seen above), a Venezuelan actor on the rise from The Bourne Ultimatum, Vantage Point, Che and Wrath of Titans. The other is Spaniard Jordi Mollà, from Bad Boys II, Bunraku, Colombiana. Unfortunately, like with all casting news on this, nothing is confirmed yet and testing is still underway. But does the focus on ethnicity mean this is still Khan that he's casting for? It has to be, right?

Helen Mirren in Talks for 'Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho'
After developing over the past four years at Paramount Pictures, the gestating film Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho with Anthony Hopkins playing the iconic filmmaker and Sasha Gervasi (Anvil! The Story of Anvil) directing is getting new life at Fox Searchlight, a home that really knows how to treat great films. In addition, Heat Vision reports Helen Mirren is now in early talks to join the project as Hitchcock's wife Alma Reville. Based on Stephen Rebello's book of the same name, the film chronicles Hitchcock's struggles to make a little horror film at the height of his career, a film that no studio wanted to touch then.

Must Listen: Rolling Stone Previews Jónsi's 'We Bought a Zoo' Score
Ever since we first learned that Sigur Ros front-man Jónsi was going to be scoring Cameron Crowe's new film We Bought a Zoo, I've been impatiently waiting to hear how it turns out. When I finally saw the film at its sneak preview (review) it was part of what made me so emotional watching the movie. I feel it might be my favorite score of the year and now that I've finally had the chance to listen to it on its own today, I can say that it likely is. Rolling Stone has posted an exclusive preview of the entire soundtrack for We Bought a Zoo, which you can listen to before it's released next week. I am in love with this score, it's exceptional!
