Eva Green in Talks to Take Female Lead in '300: Battle of Artemisia'

Eva Green

While the project still needs a strong leading man for the frontlines of 300: Battle of Artemisia, the prequel to Zack Snyder's 2006 graphic novel adaptation, a female lead has been found for the titular goddess. Heat Vision has word that the lovely Eva Green (Perfect Sense, Casino Royale), is in talks to play Artemisia, a ruthless, golden goddess who persuades Xerxes to amass his army and helps lead them into battle. The story itself follows Xerxes as he leads his army against Greek forces, who have little training but are under the guidance of a general named Themistocles, a role that might go to Joel Edgerton. Briefly: While its been reported before that the very first official trailer for Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, due out in December 2012, would be debuting in front of Adventures of Tintin starting next week, word is that it might be online the day before. Watch: Will Ferrell's Spanish Comedy 'Casa De Mi Padre' First Teaser

Casa De Mi Padre

"Yo soy Armando Alvarez!" The first poster created a bit of mystery surrounding the Spanish language comedy Casa De Mi Padre (or The House of My Father in English) led by Will Ferrell (who couldn't speak Spanish at all in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy), and this newly released teaser trailer only gives us a brief glimpse into the craziness we'll see when the film hits theaters in March. Complete with Ferrell and Diego Luna wielding guns like mad men and a quick menacing shot of Gael Garcia Bernal, this promises to be something really unique in Ferrell's career and will hopefully bring some big laughs. Review: 'Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows' is Familiar But Still Fun

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

We know his methods. At least, that's what the tagline says, but don't let that fool you. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is anything but a rehashed mystery/adventure for Great Britain's most famed crime solver and his trusty partner, Dr. Watson. In fact, A Game of Shadows is more than just a smokey whodunit-and-why across the cobblestone roads and fog-filled skies of 19th century London. The action might be a little overly stylistic, even for returning director Guy Ritchie, the sense of discovery with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law playing the lead characters might be far behind us, and the story might have a few

Review: Brad Bird's 'Ghost Protocol' is Best 'Mission: Impossible' Yet

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, the fourth film in the ongoing franchise, is, without a doubt, the best of the series. It's more straightforward than Brian De Palma's labyrinthine and overly-convoluted film from 1996. It's more grand in scope and action than J.J. Abrams' M:I III. The less said about John Woo's action-heavy, plot-nonexistent M:I II the better. What first-time, live-action director Brad Bird and the writers have crafted is a film solid with story, heavy on character, and absolutely mind-blowing in terms of stylish action that leaves you breathless more than a few times. An eye-locking adventure that utilizes all

First Trailer for 'Salmon Fishing in the Yemen' with Ewan McGregor

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen

Just recently a new trailer for the apocalyptic romance Perfect Sense starring Ewan McGregor and Eva Green, but now we have a look at a different kind of romance featuring the Moulin Rouge star and the stunning Emily Blunt. The first trailer for Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, an adaptation of Paul Torday's novel of the same name has made its way online, and while the music and the title cards make it feel a bit hokey, it does seem like there's some great chemistry between Blunt and McGregor along with an interesting story about bringing a sport to a region where science says it cannot be done. First Look: Sylvester Stallone Wielding an Axe in 'Bullet to the Head'

Bullet to the Head

Earlier this year, the new action flick Bullet to the Head, formerly known as Head Shot, had some issues locking down a director after The Warriors and 48 Hrs. director Walter Hill replaced Wayne Kramer on the film after creative differences. But now we have a first look at the film starring Sylvester Stallone as a hitman who teams up with a NYC detective in a high-stakes investigation that leads from devastated New Orleans all the way to the power corridors of Washington, D.C. 'Winter's Bone' Director Lined Up for Adaptation of 'Rule of the Bone'

Rule of the Bone / Debra Granik

After delivering a fantastic rural film noir in the form of Winter's Bone, the film that skyrocketed the career of The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence, The Calgary Herald (via The Playlist) has learned that writer/director Debra Granik will take on an adaptation of Rule of the Bone, the 1995 novel from author Russell Banks. The story follows a drug-dealing, homeless boy’s fight for survival in upstate New York and Jamaica, and it sounds like the film could launch the career of another young actor as Banks, executive producing, says "We’re probably going to cast an unknown in the lead and then cast around him."

Funny or Die Director Jake Szymanski to Direct 'He's F**kin' Perfect'

Jake Szymanski

Not too long ago we learned that Fox 2000 had essentially launched the career of a new writer by paying some big money for a romantic comedy spec script from Lauryn Kahn, who was working as director Adam McKay's assistant until this big deal came along. Now McKay and his Gary Sanchez productions banner, which he formed with Will Ferrell, is developing the project He's F**in' Perfect (expect the title to change), and while Emma Stone was initially said to be interested in the role, it sounds like it might not happen. However, Deadline reports frequent McKay collaborator, Jake Szymanski, will likely direct.
