Impressive First Official Poster for 'The Expendables 2' Finally Lands
Ever since that fake pile-up-of-actors poster debuted a few months ago, I've been anxious to see what the actual poster for The Expendables 2 would look like. Ain't It Cool News has debuted, officially, the first official poster for Simon West's Expendables 2. There's only one actor on it, Sylvester Stallone of course, but I love the look and concept. It's a hole blown in the wall in front of him as a giant number 2, with some orange flame tinges. For all that we've seen in the meantime, this is honestly an impressive official debut, bravo Lionsgate, some great work here to follow-up that otherwise measly first trailer. Check it out below!

Reese Witherspoon Set to Star in West Memphis 3 Film 'Devil's Knot'
Though producer Peter Jackson just recently announced a production wrap on West of Memphis, the documentary about the murder defendants known as the West Memphis 3 who were recently released from prison after 18 years of wrongful incarceration, development on the dramatized version of the story is finall moving forward. In August we learned that Chloe director Atom Egoyan was slated to start production on Devil's Knot, the story of three men imprisoned for the murder of three 8-year old boys until new DNA evidence seemed to prove the trio's innocence. Now Deadline says Reese Witherspoon is in talks to star.

'Margin Call' Director's Next Project 'All is Lost' to Star Robert Redford
Nearly a year ago at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, director J.C. Chandor made his directorial debut with the financial crisis drama Margin Call (available next week on Blu-Ray/DVD) featuring a star studded cast including Kevin Spacey, Zachary Quinto (who also produced the film), Jeremy Irons, Demi Moore, Stanley Tucci and more. Now Chandor is lining up his next feature and Deadline reports Sundance founder Robert Redford is in talks to lead the drama called All is Lost, a man vs. nature tale that drew comparisons to Jeremiah Johnson before the veteran actor of the classic 1972 film even became involved.

Bane's Gotham Strike Map Printed on Viral Tube + T-Shirt Package
The Fire Rises strike map? Gotham is staked out? So did we miss something? I feel like this is a huge jump ahead, right on the verge of the IMAX prologue being released this weekend, but here we go. Warner Bros has been mailing packages to various websites, us included, containing The Dark Knight Rises swag - a badass new Bane "Fire Rises" t-shirt that comes in a tube wrapped in a map of Gotham City (see the photos). The shirt looks great, but the tube has caught the attention of the web, with sites like ComingSoon and ComicBookMovie dissecting the notes like they're viral clues. As far as I can tell, this may just be a gift.

First Full Trailer for Bryan Singer's 'Jack the Giant Killer' Smashes In
Warner Bros has finally debuted a trailer for Bryan Singer's latest fantasy action epic Jack the Giant Killer, a big budget Hollywood retelling of the classic Jack and the Beanstalk story. Nicholas Hoult, last seen as Hank McCoy in X-Men: First Class, stars as Jack, supported by actors Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Warwick Davis, Bill Nighy, Ian McShane, Eleanor Tomlinson and Eddie Marsan. Quite a cast! This looks like the summer because-Game-of-Thrones-is-doing-so-well fantasy holdover until Hobbit hits later in the year. Meaning it looks like a big, fun summer movie, but really not that good. Take a look!

Seven Gripes About the Nominations for 2011 Golden Globe Awards
This morning the nominations for the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards were revealed, and as we've come to expect from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, they weren't exactly what we were expecting (if that makes sense), and there's more than a few odd choices honoring some of the talents on the big screen from the year 2011. However, my biggest gripes lie with some of the exclusions from this year's nominations, and the method by which some of the nominated films are categorized, a problem that arises every year, especially within the Best Comedy or Musical category. Read on for my issues with the noms!

Official Arena Poster for Gary Ross' 'The Hunger Games' Revealed!
The world will be watching. After revealing 100 different pieces all over the internet, one fan has finished the puzzle to debut the official poster for Lionsgate's The Hunger Games. The online game, linked to today being 100 days from release, started this morning and didn't take too long to complete, even with 100 scattered pieces. Using the tag #HunerGames100 on twitter, fans had to put together all of the pieces of the puzzle. Thanks to a tweet by @johnshoward we can now see the completed poster, with all 100 pieces in place, and it's everything you'd expect an official Hunger Games poster to look like - dark, flaming and epic.

Check This Out: 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' Lenticular Poster
This isn't your average Spielberg Lincoln, oh no, this one carries an axe - for chopping down vampires! It's that time of year when movie posters are hitting left and right to start teasing the 2012 movie season, and here's another. Fox has debuted a poster via IGN for Timur Bekmambetov's Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter that features actor Benjamin Walker as Abraham Lincoln, the Vampire Hunter. It's a lenticular poster and we have both versions, but when on display, the poster will fade from night to day viewing from different angles. I totally love the static design anyway, an epic tease for our 16th President vampire slayer!

Watch: Great Peek at the Practical Special Effects Behind 'The Thing'
Just as fast as Halloween came and went, so did The Thing, this year's horror film which went by the same name as John Carpenter's original, purported to be a sequel, but didn't feel like anything but a remake. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't all that great either. However, what is great, is some of the practical special effects done for the film that ended up being a little too polished by CGI effects when the final cut of the film was put together. Thankfully, Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. the company behind those practical effects, have released a video looking at the effects of the alien itself, which may or may not be its original form.

Brad Bird's Latest '1906' Project Update and Why It's Taking So Long
I feel like this a project we've been following for years, but without much progress. That said, Brad Bird's adaptation of 1906, about the San Francisco earthquake of that year, is one of those projects I'm constantly asked about. While we've got Brad Bird's first live-action spectacle Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol in theaters this weekend, we're also hoping he'll one day get back to making 1906 - it sounds like he's still planning to do that. MTV Rough Cut recently posted an interview segment with Brad Bird talking 1906, getting a solid current update and some details on why it's such a challenging project to actually get made.

Watch: Full 'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance' Theatrical Trailer Hits!
"If I walk away now, I'm just trading one demon for another." Columbia Pictures has unveiled a theatrical trailer for Neveldine/Taylor's Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, the return of the Marvel anti-hero Ghost Rider, played again by Nicolas Cage. Despite hearing some bad buzz from a recent fan screening, the action in this looks awesome, with huge flaming cranes and badass chain-whip action. There's no pissing fire like the first teaser trailer, but there's plenty to make up for it, including the reveal of villain Blackout, played by Johnny Whitworth. I'm looking forward to this, I hope I'm not alone. Fire up the new trailer!
