As has become the standard process of learning about a new project from Woody Allen, we don't have a story or a title, but a couple cast members have been revealed. Deadline has learned Alec Baldwin will star in the filmmaker's next project, and while details are scarce, this one will still keep him working across the pond with the story set in Rome. Though he's more famously known for his work in New York, the director has enjoyed international locations like Paris as of late. In addition, it looks like he might be banking on some young talent this time as well with Jesse Eisenberg the likely choice for another unknown lead role.
This would be the second time Allen has worked with Baldwin as they previously collaborated on the 1990 comedy Alice with Mia Farrow. This new project is also a comedy, but once again, the story is being kept under tight wraps. Eisenberg, whose mannerisms and speech make him almost like a young version of Woody Allen himself, would be a great addition to a comedy from the longtime filmmaker. In addition, this keeps Allen's record intact of making a feature film every single year since 1982. Though he's had hits and misses recently, I'm almost always look forward to a Woody Allen film. We'll keep you updated on this one.
