I Can Has Brains?

Though an epic battle between the undead and robots is brewing with the recent acquisition of Zombies vs. Robots by Sony and Platinum Dunes, a slightly sweeter kind of project will also use zombies. Variety reports The Animation Picture Company has just picked up Zombie Pet Shop, an original script from E.L. Katz that will be turned into a 3D animated feature film. In what seems like it could have a pleasant mix of horror and comedy similar to Gremlins, the story follows ious plague that sweeps through a mall pet shop, turning all of the animals into zombies. How much is that brain hungry doggy in the window, Mommy?

But as the plague takes over the pet shop, an ordinary pug named Joey must come to the rescue to find the antidote that will save his four-legged friends, as well as the humans that might take them home. Basically you're average zombie movie but with an animal twist. If this has the same dark, but comedic feel as something like Gremlins or even The Nightmare Before Christmas, then I'm definitely on board. However, the premise does seem a little silly. Oh well, at least it's something a little more original in the zombie department. What do you think?

After much deliberation... This seems like a bad idea.
