Ben Foster, Paul Dano and Others May Have 'A Good Day to Die Hard'
Just yesterday we learned that the next action adventure for John McClane would take place on Valentine's Day with the release of A Good Day to Die Hard on February 14th, 2013. It's said the story will follow Bruce Willis as the tough franchise police officer attempting to save his son over in Russia where "nothing is what it seems." At the time, it wasn't known who would play the younger McClane, but now Variety says Ben Foster (The Mechanic), Paul Dano (Knight & Day), Aaron Paul ("Breaking Bad"), Paul Walker (Fast and Furious) and Milo Ventimiglia ("Heroes") are all up for the coveted role. More details below!
In addition, there's been rumblings from inside Hollywood that the role may even be bigger than just this one film. Apparently there's a train of thought that says the film could easily set up a passing of the franchise torch to McClane's son. Now this has even more of a dangerous relationship to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull since that seemed to be an idea that was circling around Shia LaBeouf's character in the disappointing sequel. A similar tactic is being used with Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol with Jeremy Renner's character being set-up to inherit the action franchise. Honestly, I'm not sure I'm up for a Die Hard franchise without John McClane. How about you?
