With Comedy Central's roast of the actor coming later this month, the once thriving sitcom star Charlie Sheen seems to somehow be enjoying his fall from grace (and apparently sanity) by making light of it with a whole slew of comedians. Despite losing his series role on 'Two and a Half Men" to Ashton Kutcher, it looks like Sheen has been fortunate enough to officially book another acting gig, this time on the big screen. Variety reports Sheen will lead A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charlie Swan III, a new project from writer/director Roman Coppola (son of Francis Ford Coppola) that hits a bit close to Sheen's real-life issues.
The story follows a successful graphic designer whose fame, money and charm have made him irresistible to women. But when his girlfriend breaks up with him his life heads into a downward spiral. It seems to be a coincidence that Sheen shares the same first name with the main character, but someone had to make the connection in order to even thinking about hiring Sheen for a project like this. Of course, with all the publicity the actor has been getting, the film will likely get double the attention it would have otherwise. Sadly, Sheen's casting has overshadowed a more captivating talent as Jason Schwartzman has also been cast in the film, and I'm quite interested to see how these two work together on the big screen. How about you?
