Comic-Con Video Blog: First Footage from 'Prometheus' is Impressive

In Hall H, Everyone Can Hear You Scream! Just a few hours ago, we were lucky enough to be in Hall H at Comic-Con 2011 for the very first premiere of any footage from Ridley Scott's new sci-fi Prometheus, which he is still currently shooting. It was an exciting reveal as everyone has been holding their breath to see if this is really going to be as great as his classics like Alien and Blade Runner, and our first impression from this glimpse is that he definitely has. I recorded a quick video blog with Golden Briefcase's Tim Buel right after the panel discussing our reactions to the footage they showed. Suffice it to say, we're both very excited.
Ridley Scott's Prometheus stars a cast including Michael Fassbender as an android, Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce and Ben Foster. The screenplay was originally written by Jon Spaihts, then revised by Lost's Damon Lindelof. We covered the complete 20th Century Fox panel live earlier in the day, and watched Ridley Scott answer questions with Noomi Rapace via live satellite feed from Iceland. The footage definitely has an Alien meets Mass Effect vibe, mixing old and new yet still feeling like Ridley's classic sci-fi (but with huge sets) and I've now got a good feeling this movie will indeed be fantastic.
