David Oyelowo Joins the Cast of Steven Spielberg's 'Lincoln' Project
The cast continues to grow, even while it's shooting. Production is well underway on Steven Spielberg's Lincoln movie, starring Daniel Day-Lewis as our 16th President, Abraham Lincoln. The outstanding ensemble cast already features the likes of Sally Field, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Jackie Earle Haley, Lee Pace, John Hawkes, Hal Holbrook and David Strathairn, but you can toss David Oyelowo on that list too via Deadline, as he'll play a cavalryman in the film, which is currently shooting in Virginia. We last saw Oyelowo in Rise of the Planet of the Apes this summer and he's been in a few other films before.
Spielberg has been in the news a lot recently, with War Horse and The Adventures of Tintin both coming up, he's also circling Gods and Kings, but he's also well into filming on Lincoln as well, he's quite a multi-takser. So is David Oyelowo, as he'll be shooting both Lincoln for Spielberg and Christopher McQuarrie's new film One Shot at the same time, where he plays a detective investigating the sniper, played by Tom Cruise. He also stars in Lucasfilm's Red Tails this January and already shot parts in Lee Daniels' new film The Paperboy and Ava DuVernay's Middle of Nowhere. He's a very talented actor on the rise, and it's great to see him booking a role in a Spielberg movie. We'll continue to keep you updated as shooting progresses.
