Not too long ago we heard that comedy director Adam McKay would be re-teaming with The Other Guys star Mark Wahlberg for a football comedy called Turkey Bowl (though it apparently may now be called Three Mississippi). Now it sounds like McKay will also reunite with his frequent collaborator and co-star of the aforementioned police comedy, Will Ferrell, for a new project at Warner Bros. Deadline reports the studio has just picked up Swear to God, a new comedy script from Due Date writers Alan Cohen and Alan Freedland with Ferrell attached to star and McKay attached to produce and direct. Read on!
The film is described as a buddy comedy where Ferrell would play a narcissistic hedge fund manager who thinks he has seen God. It's not clear what element of the script makes it a buddy comedy, or who might star opposite Ferrell, but if it reteams the actor with Step Brothers co-star John C. Reilly, well that would be just fantastic. Honestly, I find myself looking forward to any project from Will Ferrell (especially when he makes dramatic turns in films like Everything Must Go, a must-see from this year), and his working with McKay again just sweetens the deal even more.
