Elijah Wood, Kristen Wiig and Others Have Sought 'Revenge for Jolly'

It's not often a project remains off the radar long enough to avoid publicity until after the film is wrapped, but such is the case with a new independent comedy from Atlas Independent, a low budget production arm of Atlas Entertainment (the company founded by The Dark Knight producer Charles Roven). Today the company announced wrap on production of their first endeavor, the dramatic dark comedy Revenge for Jolly! from short director Chadd Harbold which stars Oscar Isaac (Drive) and Brian Petsos ("Funny or Die Presents") and an impressive supporting cast in a story that sounds more than a little absurd.
Elijah Wood, Kristen Wiig, Adam Brody, Ryan Phillippe, Kevin Corrigan, Bobby Moynihan, Gillian Jacobs, Garret Dillahunt, and David Rasche also star in this story of the owner (Petsos) of a dog who died under suspicious circumstances thus sending he and his cousin (Isaac) following a series of clues in an attempt to track down the dog’s murderer, leaving a path of destruction in their wake. It certainly seems weird that such a crazy twisted story with quite a collection of screen talent stayed off the grid for so long, but I'm betting each of the stars only plays a small role on the path to find the dog's murderer. It's always great to see big time producers like Roven branching out to make films with smaller budgets with filmmaking talent that otherwise wouldn't have the funds. Here's hoping we'll see this film at Sundance in January, if not sometime later next year at another film festival.
