Ewan McGregor Joining Bryan Singer's 'Jack the Giant Killer' Movie
Since we have our titular hero cast with Nicholas Hoult stepping into the role, Bryan Singer's production of Jack the Giant Killer is starting to fill out the rest of the cast. Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy and John Kassir are already signed on for the fairytale retelling, but now THR reports Ewan McGregor (The Ghost Writer, I Love You Phillip Morris) has also joined the cast. The story follows on a farm boy who leads an expedition to free a princess taken hostage by a giant, a situation which threatens the uneasy peace between humans and giants. We're still waiting to find out what leading lady will step into the role of the princess. Read on!
Apparently the role of the princess has Australian actress Adelaide Kane ("Power Rangers RPM") and Elenor Tomlinson (Alice in Wonderland) in contention for the part. As for McGregor's role, the actor will play the leader of the king's elite guard who helps fight the giants. This role could very well be McGregor's most action-packed role since working on Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith or Michael Bay's 2005 film The Island. Since Singer hasn't directed a film since 2008's Valkyrie, I'm looking forward to him getting behind the camera again with a cast like this. How about you?
