Extended 'Lord of the Rings' Returning to AMC Theaters This June!
Myyy preciousss! It brings me great joy to report this news today and I hope that's the same for all of you. TheOneRing.net has discovered that AMC has scheduled special event screenings of all three Lord of the Rings: Extended Editions this June in honor of the upcoming summer release of the long-awaited LOTR:EE Blu-Rays (pre-order them here). There's not much info, but the three dates are: Fellowship of the Ring (Extended Edition) on June 14th at 7PM, The Two Towers (Extended Edition) on June 21st at 7PM, and The Return of the King (Extended Edition) on June 28th. Ohh I am totally going to all three of these!
There's not much info for these events yet, but I have a feeling a lot more is to come, as TORn says "check back at TheOneRing.net for an EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT about these events in the coming weeks!" The events are listed on AMC's website for ticketing: Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King. But I have a feeling there is going to be something else unique involved with this, extra deals you get or collectibles for attending, or something like that, as AMC even lists them as "Director's Cut Events." I'm sure Peter Jackson is going to cut a video intro for each one of these (though that's just speculation for now). We'll keep you updated on AMC's plans. It's so awesome to see LOTR back in theaters. Tolkien's back!
