Farrelly Brothers' Next Project Looks to Be a 'Dumb & Dumber' Sequel

Twice in the past year, 17 years after Dumb & Dumber hit theaters, there have been rumblings from all the right sources that a sequel to the 1994 comedy starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels might be on the way. The former actor, who hasn't enjoyed the glory of his comedy heyday in years, revealed in June that he might revisit Lloyd Christmas and director Bobby Farrelly, the other half of the sibling duo alongside Peter Farrelly, also said they were thinking about what Harry and Lloyd would be up to 20 years after the original film. Now Deadline has news on some writers for the sequel that might be the Farrellys' next film.
The plan is to bring both Carrey and Daniels back in their respective roles, but this time the Farrelly Brothers won't be writing the film themselves. This time it will be Sex Drive writers Sean Anders and John Morris (who also directed the upcoming comedy I Hate You Dad starring Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg) who will make with the funny this time around. Apparently this deal has been in the works for a little while now, but the desire to finally get The Three Stooges off the ground pushed back those plans. Now Anders and Morris just have to make sure they come up with something better than the poorly planned and received prequel Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, a film which has thankfully been mostly forgotten by those who had their eyes burned out by watching it.
