First Look: Sebastian Stan as a Grittier Bucky in 'Captain America'
We're still waiting for a trailer for Marvel's Captain America: The First Avenger, but in the meantime, photos have been popping up across the web. While an extremely poor quality shot of Cap's sidekick Bucky appeared online earlier, Hero Complex now has an officially released, good clean shot and we thought it was worth sharing. James 'Bucky' Barnes is being played by 27-year-old actor Sebastian Stan, who looks more like a Band of Brothers soldier than a glossy comic book icon, but that's exactly what director Joe Johnston wanted. Also don't forget, there'll be a short Captain America TV spot during the Super Bowl this weekend.
Update: Also want to add these two shots of Red Skull and his soldiers scanned via Les Toiles Héroïques.
Captain America director Joe Johnston also spoke with Hero Complex about Bucky. "Sebastian brought something really interesting and slightly on the dark side and really compelling to watch— when he's on camera, you're fascinated by watching him… In a great cast, I thought he really stood out and brought some unexpected things to the role. Everyone brought something… but I was most pleasantly surprised by what Chris [Evans] brought and what Sebasatian brought in a much smaller role as Bucky." Head over here for plenty more with Johnston. Captain America: The First Avenger hits theaters on July 22nd this summer.
