I Don't Know How She Does It Trailer

"You're allowed to miss your children." The Weinstein Company has debuted the first trailer for Doug McGrath's comedy I Don't Know How She Does It, headlined by Sarah Jessica Parker but starring a boatload of other actors. This starts out kind of like Sex and the City but becomes something a bit different, as it's adapted from a novel. The cast includes: Pierce Brosnan, Greg Kinnear, Olivia Munn, Seth Meyers, Kelsey Grammer, Christina Hendricks and Jessica Szohr. Obviously this isn't going to appeal to everyone, so stay away if you know you won't like it, otherwise dive in to another kitschy comedy.

Centers on the life of Kate Reddy, a finance exec who is the "breadwinner" for her husband and two kids.

I Don't Know How She Does It is directed by Oscar nominated writer/director Doug McGrath, of the films Emma, Company Man, Nicholas Nickleby and Infamous. The script was written by Aline Brosh McKenna (Devil Wears Prada, 27 Dresses, Morning Glory, We Bought a Zoo) based on Allison Pearson's novel of the same name. The Weinstein Co. is bringing I Don't Know How She Does It to theaters on September 16th.

right!!! It clearly says she is the breadwinner. Good god!! If you are gonna be the man, be the man and stop whining about missing kid shit.

So a self praising movie staring a popular actor.... Big surprise Mr. Weinstein.

Well, the one positive of this film is that SJP is finally playing her age.
  • I'm not a huge fan of Sarah Jessica Parker (really liked her in "Hocus Pocus" tho). I might see this movie solely for the fact that it's based in NYC and the amount of other good actors in it. Who knows, maybe I'll become more of a fan of hers, but most likely not.
  • I think that was actually quite good.
  • Her retirement can't come soon enough.

This SJP vehicle is definitely not a horse of a different color as far as movies go. Neigh, I doubt I would see this one.

But SJP is the mane attraction!
  • Did they film the whole thing on a greenscreen? I kept wondering if any of those shots were real.

That didn't look so bad. Could have been so much worse.
  • A year ago I would have said no way but as a new first time mom to a 2 month old I say hell yeah. I'd totally cry to is I missed the first hair cut haha. Wasn't as bad as I thought though, love the cast...probably wouldn't spend money to see it unless I heard it was particularly good since it seems totally predictable

Is it a rule now that movies with Pierce Brosnan must also have Greg Kinnear?
  • Chris
Really disliking this trend where the trailer gives you the whole story and going to see the movie is merely for filling in the details.
