Pirates of the Caribbean Featurette

"You believe in pirates, of course?" Disney has unveiled a new featurette for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides called Disneyland to the Big Screen that, if you love this series, you can't pass up. This has got to be the most exciting featurette I've ever seen. There's barely a voiceover, save for Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa, but other than that it's just some awesome behind-the-scenes action pieces that should make everyone pumped to see this. There definitely isn't any deep historical exploration between the thene park ride and movie franchise in this video, but it's still a fun featurette, despite being mostly hype. Enjoy!

Watch the "Disneyland to the Big Screen" Pirates of the Caribbean featurette:

Jack Sparrow and Barbossa embark on a quest to find the elusive fountain of youth, only to discover that Blackbeard and his daughter are after it too. Watch the latest official trailer and another Pirates featurette.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is directed by Oscar nominated director Rob Marshall, whose only previous directing credits are Chicago, Memoirs of a Geisha and the musical Nine. The screenplay was once again written by franchise regulars Ted Elliott & Terry Rossio, based on Tim Power's book On Stranger Tides. Disney is bringing Pirates of the Caribbean 4 to theaters in 3D starting on May 20th this summer!

i like the idea and Disneyland stuff, but every single trailer/clip they show of this movie looks like the exact same thing over and over again! that's something the first 3 didn't have. which makes me think that this Pirates is really scaled down, which it's reported to be, and the reliance on a good script will be greater. i'm hopeful, because I think Rossio and Elliot are great, but I'm also feeling cautious. hope it rocks, but the clips are kind of soulless.

Looks like money in the bank to me. I know some are being a little dismissive this time around, but the Pirates are huge on the international market and will probably still have more appeal than the numerous superhero flicks we're getting, some of which don't look like they'll travel well. More bounty for Sparrow and co.
