Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes & Naomie Harris Definitely in 'Bond 23'

James Bond

Previously, we've heard rumors that both Ralph Fiennes and Javier Bardem were circling roles in Bond 23, the as yet untitled forthcoming sequel in the James Bond franchise starring Daniel Craig as Agent 007. In addition, though we haven't highlighted them, rumors have been circling that Naomie Harris (28 Days Later, Pirates of the Caribbean) was going to have a role in the film as one of the few signature Bond girls that show up in every installment. Now Baz Bamigboye seems to have confirmation that Bardem and Fiennes are already signed, and that Harris will play Miss Moneypenny, the staple Bond character.

Moneypenny isn't a Bond girl in the traditional sense of the word as she works as M's assistant in the series, but she has been known to flirt and cavort with everyone's favorite British spy. This would be the character's first appearance in the series since Craig became Bond, and casting an actress like Harris in the role seems to imply the character might have a more significant role in the story, but we can't be sure yet. And while we initially heard that Bardem was playing the villain in Bond 23, that detail has yet to be confirmed. Either way, I'm just glad the next Bond film with Sam Mendes at the helm is finally gearing up for production. Stay tuned.

This is shaping up to be even better than Casino Royal, Quantum was a big dissapointment though. Great actors great director lets hope for a great script. Perhaps this could be the best Bond movie ever.

Owh no... not again a JB007 movie... after 'Die Another Day' the movies were getting worst... Why can't 'Albert R. Broccoli's EON Productions' understand that the James Bond 'era' is over?? And again with Daniel Craig??? No thanks, I'm going to pass this time after his other 2 JB films I've learned my lesson... *sigh*

if you don't like the movies that's fine, but i think that the "James Bond 'era'" is most definitely not over especially with someone like Daniel Craig playing the part of Bond. let's just hope he get's to do a few more movies and not end after "Bond 23"

Are you nuts?!  The Bond franchise has been interspersed with failure for decades, and the downslide of the Pierce Brosnon era started going downhill after 'Goldeneye.'  Casino Royale rejuvenated the franchise and I would take 'Quantum of Solace' over any Roger Moore era Bond.  Though, in comparison to 'Casino Royale' it was a bit of a let down.

yeah Daniel Craig is the best Bond behind Sean Connery b/c he was the first one. Pierce Brosnan was too damn clean and unbelievable.

@92631446ff13a3937fa5eb63828b09ab:disqus rocKKicker, I'm a huge JB fan but some movies are only special in a 'special age'... I mean the 20th century was an age of great inovation (in JB movies: 'talking car' (Tomorrow Never Dies), Feminism (Okey, not so 'epic' but it made the whole movie quiet funny, On Her Majestie's Secret Service) ,the 'mini' laptop of Elliot Carver (Tomorrow Never Dies), Goldeneye (Goldeneye) and a lot of other amazing stuff (and periods wich had a strong impact on the movies!). Also the JB movies has a special formula (if you have to beleave 'Albert Broccoli'). The formula looks like this:- Give Bond the sexiest girls (of course :p)- Give Bond the right backbround (That doesn't include a dessert if you ask me)- Give Bond the right cloths (not only the suits)(The formula can be heared in one of the 'Making Of's' about JB, not the movie but the character!)

I quite like these new bond films, even though it was rumoured to be a 'Bond Begins' at first and would had been amazing to see Bond as a SBS commander starting in the world of espionage.  Otherwise its basically the same Bond all over again with set piece chase and climatic fights...

Did the sequel hysteria begin with Bond? the notion that we can do about the same and keep making lots of dough. I love the bond franchise but most money grabbing people must look at this? 40+ years still doing big bucks. Anyone know?

I hope Javier is the bad guy, Craig needs someone to physically challenge him in these movies..for the next one, they need to have someone like Tom Hardy,Chiwetol Ejiofor, Idris Elba or Eric Bana as the badguys....

Chris nolan already teased what I saw as the Tom Hardy Bond in his Inception interviews then we got fassbender and Bale as options.

I hope Bardem is playing some assassin hunting bond type role, those 2 playing a cat and mouse game with mendez behind the camera....this has got epic win written all over it.
