Jeffrey Donovan Set to Play Bobby Kennedy in Eastwood's 'J. Edgar'
Along with Leonardo DiCaprio leading Clint Eastwood's biopic J. Edgar about the historical FBI founder and director, the cast has rounded out beautifully with the likes of Naomi Watts as Helen Gandy, Josh Lucas as Charles Lindbergh, Judi Dench in an unknown role, Armie Hammer as Clyde Tolson and more. Now yet another name has been added to the roster as Jeffrey Donovan, who was in Clint Eastwood's Changeling, recently updated his own Twitter feed saying that, "I fly to LA Sunday. I have been [cast] as Bobby Kennedy opposite [Leonardo DiCaprio] in Hoover. Excited. Working with Mr Eastwood again. Dreams come true."
Donovan definitely deserves some more play on the big screen, but the actor has also been busy with his series "Burn Notice" on USA Network. It's unclear just how pivotal the role will be, but whether it's a brief appearance or not, Donovan's addition to the cast (noticed on Twitter by Collider) just sweetens the deal. With the film expected in theaters sometime later this year, there's no doubt this will be a film to keep an eye on when awards season rolls around in early 2012. After being relatively unimpressed with Hereafter, I'm looking forward to Eastwood getting back on track with a strong cast like this. How about you?
