'Limitless' Director Neil Burger Will Helm 'Uncharted: Drake's Fortune'

Back in May we learned that director David O. Russell had left the video game adaptation Uncharted: Drake's Fortune because of creative differences with the studio. Plenty of fans of the game are probably pleased with his departure, but now they can judge the new director who has just joined the project. Variety reports Limitless director Neil Burger is currently in talks to take over the video game adaptation at Sony Pictures. Apparently producers Avi Arad, Ari Arad, Charles Roven and Alex Gartner all liked his new take on the film, but it doesn't look likely that Mark Wahlberg will stick around to star in the film.
Honestly, with Burger just recently working with Bradley Cooper, I have to admit that he wouldn't too bad as the video game hero Nathan Drake. Of course, I'm sure fans still want Nathan Fillion, who seems perfect for the role, to step up and star in the film, and that would be just fine by me. Either way, the project is a high priority for Sony as the game franchise have sold nearly six million copies, so there's plenty of potential for some big box office numbers. Hopefully we'll find out what Burger's take on the video game entails sooner than later, so stay tuned as this project develops.
