Logan Lerman is 'The Only Living Boy in New York' for Seth Gordon
He's already set to star in an adaptation of the much loved book The Perks of Being a Wallflower with actress Emma Watson, but now Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson and the Olympians) is set to venture in to the world of indie film. Deadline reports the young actor will team with director Seth Gordon (The King of Kong, Four Christmases) for The Only Living Boy in New York, the story of a young man (Lerman) learns that his overbearing father is having an affair. When the boy tries to stop the affair, he finds himself getting romantically involved with the woman as well and gets advice about love from a quirky neighbor.
Though the film takes its title from the Simon and Garfunkel song of the same name, it doesn't appear to be an adaptation of said song. Though I wouldn't be surprised if it makes on onto the soundtrack. Lerman has the potential to become a great actor (he's in Three Musketeers next), but the real test will be his work on Perks of Being a Wallflower, a seminal coming-of-age story for any teen. As for Gordon, he has the promising comedy Horrible Bosses coming out with Colin Farrell, Kevin Spacey and more, but he has a lot to make up for after throwing Four Christmases our way. Maybe he'll do better with less mainstream material like this. What do you think?
