Must Watch: Evil Plots Are Afoot in First 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' Trailer

"On my orders, the G.I. Joe's were terminated with extreme prejudice." It's only Monday, and this week is shaping up to be a big one for getting audiences pumped for 2012. The first trailer for Men in Black 3 hit this morning and now yet another sequel gets its first trailer with the unveiling of G.I. Joe: Retaliation, the sequel that brings back only a few cast members like Channing Tatum from the original 2009 blockbuster and introduces new cast members like Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis, Ray Stevenson and Adrianne Palicki. If you're looking for more ridiculous action, this seems to be the film to see. Watch!

Here's the first trailer for Jon M. Chu's sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation originally from Machinima:

G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation is being directed by Jon M. Chu (Step Up 2 & 3D, "The LXD", Justin Bieber: Never Say Never) from a script by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick. Channing Tatum returns as Duke, along with Ray Park as Snake Eyes and Lee Byung-hun as Storm Shadow. Other newcomers to the cast include Bruce Willis as General Joseph B. Colton, Adrianne Palicki as Lady Jaye, Ray Stevenson as Firefly, Joseph Mazzello as Mouse, Arnold Vosloo as Zartan, D.J. Cotrona as Flint, and RZA as the Blind Master. Paramount is planning to release G.I. Joe: Retaliation starting on June 29th, 2012 next summer.

  I was thinking the same thing??!! As it was going allow, i thought they'd take "The Avengers" approach with the hulk, and not show Cobra/Destro till the end of the trailer, but I guess not. I like the new cast, but I feel Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Rachel Nichols, and Marlon Wayans (sorry bout the copy and paste) did a well enough job to return. However, I just fucking hope that that's Ray Park returning as Snake Eyes!!!!

I REALLY REALLY hope Snake Eyes gets more screen time. He was very underutilized in the first one. I'm glad they got rid of Marlon Wayans. I found him to be quite obnoxious in the first one. Overall I like the trailer. It looks like an entertaining summer flick.

  Duke wasn't part of the original GI Joe team. It's been an ever changing team so it shouldn't really matter.

  yeah, I agree w/ TK, duke was to supposed to die in the animated movie ala' optimus, but due to the fan reaction to optimus, they announced over the radio in the end that duke was gonna be fine. I personally didn't care too much for the joes portrayed as a large team of international soldiers. I've always liked the tighter nit group. A revolving handful is fine with me as long as they kick ass!

The first movie sucked but it did feature some crazy CG action sequences, like the Paris scene. Was kinda hoping for more of that to be carried over. Thank god they got rid of Marlon Wayan's character! Less Tatum and more Bruce Willis and 'The Rock' works for me!

I want to like this but after the last one I don't think I can... only thing that could at all redeem it is if Baroness turns out to be fooling Duke and is still aligned with Cobra. Zartan looked great, couldn't even see him, true master of disguise.

CC is in it showed him in the trailer, also about Duke. I have a feeling he may be in that body sized bag hanging from the cliff w/ Snake Eyes at 2:08 mark in the trailer. Him being in a coma or something of the sort seems likely. Hopefully he does not wake up till the next animated movie.

so Storm Shadow never died in the first one, cause I remember him getting stabbed twice in the chest then falling into ice water. From the trailer it looks like they kill Duke who is a major character in the GI Joes

I liked the first one because of the old school James Bond esque plot (that someone obviously put a LITTLE work into) and the action scenes. Hopefully they show some semblance of a story in this one. Waiting happily with low expectations.

I loved the first one for what it was, great action movie with even match ups between the good guys and bad guys!! 2 secret angencies one good one bad! 2 hot chicks fighting eachother, 2 bad ass ninjas fighting eachother!! It was a great action flick! I like the addition to the cast in this trailer but what happened to Duke?? Its Marlon Wayans character that should be gone and im glad he is but i dont understand why they dissapeared the main character from the last movie?? I repeat... where is Duke??

How to make a good sequel to a horrible movie: Kill off all the sucky actors and then proceed with the second movie. Haha. Just think of the satisfaction it would have given you if they killed Jar Jar Binks off in the first 5 minutes of Star Wars 2.
