Warrior Trailer

"Are we here to win this fight?" Lionsgate has debuted the first trailer via Apple for Gavin O'Connor's new film Warrior, an inspirational sports drama focusing on two MMA fighters who happen to be brothers. This stars Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton as the two brothers, Nick Nolte as their estranged father, and even includes Jennifer Morrison and Noah Emmerich. This is the movie I've been raving about since getting an early glimpse at it last week and I'm excited to share the trailer with everyone, too. Warrior is such a great movie and I'm more than happy to start building fantastic buzz for it. Watch the trailer below!

Watch the first teaser trailer for Gavin O'Connor's Warrior:

You can also watch the Warrior trailer in High Definition on Apple

The youngest son (Hardy) of a former boxer returns home, where he's trained by his father (Nolte) for competition in a MMA tournament -- a path that also puts him on a collision corner with his older brother.

Warrior is directed by American filmmaker Gavin O'Connor, of films like Tumbleweeds, Miracle, and Pride and Glory previously. The screenplay was written by Anthony Tambakis, Cliff Dorfman & O'Connor from a story by Cliff Dorfman ("Entourage") & Gavin O'Connor. This was filmed back in 2009 mostly in Pittsburgh and Atlantic City. Lionsgate is finally bringing Warrior to theaters starting September 9th later this year.

Looks like The Fighter for the MMA genre. Well, I like Tom Hardy and MMA, so I'm in.

2

Nice. Good to see a decent MMA story in cinema for a change.

Big Boss on Apr 7, 2011

3

Yep, I'm in. Hardy and Edgerton look excellent here.

Very cool trailer but too spoilerish in my opinion. I would expect something like the reveal that the brothers are going to fight for the championship would be kept for the movie.

Did you guys really think they weren't gonna fight in the end?

Dukephoenix on Apr 8, 2011

7

too many things shown, ffs. who taught them to make a trailer?

8

Anyone else noticed the similar font from The Fighter trailer?

notalent on Apr 7, 2011

9

and similar music........ and similar brother to brother relationship..... yeah....I noticed.

Awtan90 on Apr 7, 2011

10

Lol, I really really want to think that this is just a coincidence.

Cracky on Apr 7, 2011

11

Im not certain but, but i think Warrior was made BEFORE The Fighter! Its just been kept from being released for a coouple of years.

Edward Nigma on Apr 15, 2011

12

doesn't matter, The Fighter was a real story, and if you knew anything you would know that their relationship was exactly how they portrayed it in the movie

bitt on May 7, 2011

13

Literally the exact same FONT and MUSIC and cutting style of THE FIGHTER trailer.

Boner on Apr 7, 2011

14

Exciting, music really pumps it up.

SNEARS on Apr 7, 2011

15

It may have nothing to do with ( Peaceful Warrior ) ... But still it remind me by it .. I think the reasons are Nick Nolte + Title " Warrior " + Movie about Sport 😉

shero on Apr 7, 2011

16

Marketing execs and trailer editors are shameless rip-off artists. This is probably a really good film, but this trailer makes it look so much a rip-off of THE FIGHTER. "If you liked THE FIGHTER... come see our movie!! We're terrified of losing our jobs and we can't risk cutting an original trailer so we are going to rip off the marketing for THE FIGHTER note for note!!!"

FIDOO on Apr 7, 2011

17

And consider what a joy it would be editing video into trailers for movies and getting paid to do it. I should think a person would feel lucky for the opportunity and exercise some imagination and creativity, but apparently that isn't the case.

JL on Apr 8, 2011

18

oh yeaaaaaaa.i wanna see Edgerton in bourne legacy NOW. on another note,i cant believe they put his name before hardy.probably has a thing to do with hardy beeing nobody when this was filming...

easy company on Apr 7, 2011

19

Well, with all due respect to both actors, they're BOTH kind of 'nobodies'.

John Doe on Apr 9, 2011

20

Enjoyed this trailer. I can't wait to see the film, and looks like Hardy is really getting ripped. He is gonna be awesome as Bane!

Mayhem on Apr 7, 2011

21

Yea, they shot this a while ago before he was even cast, back in 2009, so I don't think that's how he looks now. He even shot this before Inception.

Alex Billington on Apr 7, 2011

22

Why do you leave out frank grillo?

Fgrillo91 on Apr 7, 2011

23

So, apparently Mics are the only fighters you can make movies about today?

30

reminds me of rebelt and the fighter but ill still give it a watch

Dim2thesum on Apr 7, 2011

31

Hardy and Nolte. Righteous. Who would ever have thought that an MMA movie could be done without the douchebag, Tap-Out, Linkin Park soundtracked, macho bullshit? I didn't. Yay.

Cracky on Apr 7, 2011

LOL!

The Fighter 2

Jennifer Morrison is amazingly gorgeous. This sensual young woman is indescribably beautiful. I hope Tom Hardy and Kurt Angle will have an MMA fight in this film. Random Star Trek connection – Shinzon and Winona Kirk together on screen.

wow looks good

EXACTLY!!!!!!!...ughhh

Kmckoy23 on Apr 7, 2011

39

well, at least we can watch to see which one wins.. oh wait..

Boon on Apr 7, 2011

40

Nah there's still more to it, don't worry. It's about the experience of watching it (on the big screen), not the outcome at the end, right? 🙂

Alex Billington on Apr 7, 2011

can't wait to see it based on what Alex wrote.

Australia versus New Zealand! YEAHHHH!!!

Strontiumchin on Apr 8, 2011

44

Saw it at CinemaCon. It's incredible. Oscar worthy without a doubt and way superior to THE FIGHTER.

Tony on Apr 8, 2011

45

the Fighter comparisons are getting rather annoying. This is MMA not Boxing.

Anonymous on Apr 8, 2011

46

Ah shit. I think I could love this film. I did mixed martial arts for 4 years (and it was brutal) and I've been waiting for a movie like this.

Modern American Man on Apr 8, 2011

47

so its basically BELLATOR:The Motion Picture or PRIDE Middleweight Grand Prix:The Movie .. If nothing else it looks well made and should be way better than NEVER BACK DOWN and more action oriented than REDBELT.

ken bolden on Apr 8, 2011

48

Where the fuck is Hardy's neck?

kneeldown on Apr 8, 2011

49

Yeah, dude's neck (or lack their of) lookin like Bill Goldberg's.

John Doe on Apr 9, 2011

50

OMG the whole movie was in the freaking trailer. Trailers should not be longer than 1:15-1:45 minutes.

THeFiGHTeR on Apr 8, 2011

51

You people are outrageous. Stop pretending this trailer ruined anything... It looks awesome.

Chazzy on Apr 8, 2011

52

this looks just like the fighter,i mean the trailer is a rip off the fighter trailers....same deliverence of dialogues,music,font...the dad is dickie, the bros are micky....

Rojagegeo on Apr 8, 2011

53

Gavin O'Connor = David O'Russel, there is an 'O' in both the directors names too....

Rojagegeo on Apr 8, 2011

54

looks great! I agree with Alex. Its not about knowing the outcome, its about experiencing the journey...what happens to them along the way, how it happens, and how they react to it all. Tom Hardy is our Brando....and I hate comparing actors to the older generation. But he will elevate acting to a new level the way Brando did, and others will follow in his footsteps.

Vito on Apr 8, 2011

55

This movie looks incredible , I can't wait to see it !!!

Natjames7 on Apr 8, 2011

56

Too bad this didn't see the light before... fortunately Tom Hardy has all the public attention right now, so we could see this. Maybe we'll see this movie winning some awards in the future...

Leinergroove on Apr 8, 2011

57

First The Wrestler, then The Fighter and now this? I guess they forgot the "the".

M.K. Nielsen on Apr 9, 2011

58

Dude they have been making inspirational sports movies since before you were born .... Your a douch! But I applaud you for breaking away from your typical comment "gay"

McWilly on Apr 14, 2011

59

Look good but I think I just know the ending hahaha Damn the trailer!!!

TTumMM on Apr 9, 2011

60

I gotta feeling this is gonna be great. Mma movies up to now has sucked ass, except Redbelt which was pretty good. Bring it on!

Einar Os on Apr 11, 2011

61

redbelt was not an MMA movie it was a BJJ movie it was amazing tough!

Daniel Jason Sanchez Reyes on Apr 12, 2011

So it's the Rocky III story set in the MMA world? Ok, I'll watch it!!

Wlange4 on Apr 19, 2011

In 2006 I took a screenwriting class; a Greek guy (Dimitris?) had a script "Tapout", about 2 estranged brothers who meet in the Octagon.

Trailer killed the movie.
