Must Watch: First Thrilling Trailer for Steven Soderbergh's 'Contagion'

No one is immune to fear. Warner Bros has released the first trailer via Apple for Steven Soderbergh's virus thriller Contagion, and damn does this look like a good one. The film has a great cast: Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Marion Cotillard, Bryan Cranston, Jude Law, John Hawkes and more. It's about a virus outbreak that's spreading across the world and the team of CDC doctors involved in fighting it. This definitely reminds me of Outbreak, but with a totally different sensibility thanks to Soderbergh's filmmaking, which I love to watch. It looks quite scary, can't wait to see it!

An upcoming action-thriller that centers on the threat posed by a deadly disease and an international team of doctors contracted by the CDC to deal with the outbreak and prevent it from destroying the world.

Contagion is directed by Oscar winning filmmaker Steven Soderbergh, of great films like The Limey, Erin Brockovich, Traffic, Oceans 11 - 13, Solaris, The Good German, Che, The Girlfriend Experience and The Informant!. The screenplay was written by Scott Z. Burns, of The Bourne Ultimatum, The Informant! and Notes on Lying. Warner Bros is bringing Contagion to theaters + IMAX starting September 9th this fall.

...hey i was the guy who made the title sequence, and i spent a lot of time creating those for people so the movie would look interesting... do you know how long it takes to do something in after affects when your watching the tutorial simultaneously??? God, you people are insensitive!

So they made a movie about what the FEDS have been planning for years now. Contingency plans have been made,bills have been drafted for this very scenario, F.E.M.A has been structured around this very thing to happen and they made a FN movie about it. I dont like the word conspiracy theory cause its really more like conspiracy realist....these type of ppl see the world in which most are blind too. So that being said I almost think this movie had been placed to show the public what will or could be coming soon so its not much of a shock when it happens. I know I'll still be scared as hell no matter if Ive seen a film about it or not. Thats my thoughts.....so be nice!

I don't think the feds want to kill us but they DO want to scare us. The big corps, including the banks led by the Federal Reserve, who owns the government and have successfully bankrupted this country, could definitely be behind these types movies that try to scare you into the loving arms of the government, who will "take care" of you. If you don't believe it, wake up, your the zombie.

To mirror what some people have said: there are two unnecessary things about this trailer/movie. First, why is this in IMAX (even though I love IMAX and enjoy the experience, it just doesn't seem like it will utilize it). Two, why would they reveal a main character's death in the trailer? I understand to drill the moment to the audience, and even if it happens early in the movie... WTF? With all that said, I am still very excited to see this. It seems horrifically realistic.

I think they are trying to instill in the viewer that no character is safe and that this movie will likely kill alot of the characters. I was shocked at the fact she was killed in the trailer too and because that was so different it made me want to see this film as I dont think it will be your typical hollywood plot. Sometimes there arent happy endings and maybe this is one of those films!

Seen this before, but it does look great + great cast. But for the love of god, do these trailers have to be sooooo damn long and give so much away !!!! I just saw Horrible Bosses, and although a pretty good movie, most of the movie was given away in the trailer
