Must Watch: Matt Shapiro's Outstanding '2011: The Cinescape' Recap
"This year's movies go to eleven." I know it's another one of these year end montages, but this is a good—no, a fantastic one—thanks to our old pal Matt Shapiro, aka oyguvaltshappy, who has been making these since the start, way back since 2006; we've been covering since 2007. 2011: The Cinescape recaps the year in film with some outstanding editing as well as excellent voiceover placement, making this one of that you just have to watch, it'll bring a big smile to your face. He hits nearly everything, even The Devil's Double and that anime Redline, plus anything in between, including Jack & Jill, but also Hobo With a Shotgun. Enjoy!
"This is what it looks like when we tell each other the stories in our heads." I love watching these recaps, it always makes me feel good about the year of movies, there was some excellent stuff. Thanks to the tip from Awards Daily on this new one for 2011 being posted. If you don't know, that opening is from Billy Wilder's Sunset Blvd., obviously not a 2011 film (it's 1950) but a perfect fit for this year nonetheless, especially with The Artist out there. You can find the music he used on the YouTube page, but I can't find a list of clips yet, though I'm sure one will pop up fairly soon. Here's Matt Shapiro's previous recaps: 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007.
