Must Watch: Nostalgic 'Harry Potter - Through the Pensieve' Montage

Harry Potter - Through the Pensieve

"You're a wizard, Harry!" I expect this to only be the first of many Harry Potter tributes we'll see over the next few months before Deathly Hallows: Part 2 hits theaters. Their own intro is best for this: "Over the years, the Harry Potter series has had a very special place in my heart. With the final film coming out in 50 days, I thought it would be a good time to look back at the journey we've taken with the film versions of JK Rowling's unforgettable characters. A retrospective spanning all 8 films, this tells the story of the bravery of children, the folly of the powerful, and the overriding force of love." Watch it below - it's quite emotional!

I just love the way it brings all of the fantastic Harry Potter films over the years, over 10 years, together in a way that makes it all seem like one big, unforgettable, extraordinary story. It's going to be a truly sad finale.

Unfortunately the entire aspect ratio of this was off - hopefully they'll fix it eventually. Thanks to FS reader "Alexandra 1234" for sending in this video. I was going to feature this anyway because I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and it's a great video, but I love her email to me: "Tears literally ran down my face, but you know what IDGAF. It seems like something good for all the HP fans on your blog." I love it, so true, and happy to feature it here! We're now only 49 days away until the final Deathly Hallows hits theaters on July 15th, but we'll definitely continue hyping it up until then so be on the lookout. And see the latest official trailer here!

Decent editing...but hard is it to fix the aspect ratio?
    • Yea I know, I could do it myself, but I'll let them fix their own YouTube.

  • Brought a tear to my eye.. as excited as I am for this last film, im so sad to see it end.
  • That intro with the music was unnecessary I thought.
  •  Aspect ratio is very difficult on YouTube actually - unless all your clips come in the exact same source and format. That either happens by editing recent movie trailers (using Apple's format) or literally burning entire DVD's on a computer one by one. Cheers! :)

The intro song was meh, but everything else was epically beautiful.
  • You guys are jerks. The video looks fine, it looks like it was made for fun.  When did everyone become fan based video clip critics? Get a life. And are any of you film majors first off. Nobody cares what you think.
    • Xerxexx, unnecessary. No one here "Hates" the video. In fact 6 comments here seem to praising the video. I critizied the intro song mostly because its a rather bland song. But I praised the rest of the video. Simmer down, ma'am.
      • Wow, sensitive..are you going to cry cyber bullying now. Its easy to dish something out on someone else but like most people you can't take it back. I don't know why people write on blogs if they don't expect people to reply back. And maybe I wasn't talking to you anyway, did you think of that before starting something? lol
        • Xerxexx
Sensitive? If you like. Cry Cyber Bullying? Why? Are you a bully? I responded to you because you made an unfair and unwarranted generalization about us readers. Just because some of us do not hold degrees in Film does not make are opinions invalid. Also no one complained about the video just the off aspect ratio and the cheesy intro song. Also who would you be talking too? No one and I mean no one insulted the video or director. You're made/are still making mountains out of mole jumped the gun and defended the integrity of a video that was not being challenged in the entertainment category...just a technical again simmer down. At least defend a video that is being attacked due to its content and quality...not a video that most seem to love myself included.

YOU seem to care a significant amount.  You mustered the energy to comment on these comments. ;P

i wouldn't have pick that song, especially not considering most, if not all, of Dredg's catalog is amazing.  if you haven't listened to them then that is not a good representation.

    • Holy crap Michelle - you are on a troll slaughtering rampage (!) I will always be in favor of those who defend that things are always easier said than done, but for those who get through the self-depreciating process of doing it, there is the reward of having created something potentially great (like this video for example).

        what trolls?
        •  Exactly
          • Xerxexx
Me? I'm a troll? If so riddle me this: How and why?
    • Buzzfunk
I think shes new to the net. She doesn't know how to type replies and she is posting with her full name. Troll'd.
  • If you liked this, you should definitely watch my montage of films with scenes shot in Central Park New York City! Worth checking out!
    • Xerxexx
      That was quite awesome.
      •  I meant exactly as in... exactly, there are no trolls here. Hope this brings clarity to the whole affair (my first language is French so please be kind).
        • Xerxexx
oh, I'm very sorry! I jumped the gun, and I apologize.

I am not the biggest fan of the movies but I love how much the kids have all grown into pretty exceptional actors especially Daniel Radcliffe. One shot that I have always found chilling was what they ended with where Baby Harry is looking up at Voldermort. That kid has the creepiest smirk and it works so well.
