Killer Elite Trailer

"The gloves are off!" OmniLab and Open Road Films have just debuted the official trailer for Killer Elite, a badass-looking action flick from Australia starring Jason Statham as a elite killer, Robert De Niro as the guy he's saving, and Clive Owen as the bad guy. That's a hell of a cast and I'm hoping that means this is awesome. This trailer is fun as hell anyway, especially with that orchestral "Rock You Like a Hurricane", I want to see it after watching that! The girl is Yvonne Strahovski and it also includes Dominic Purcell and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. Give it a shot, it's pure action, but it might be good. Plus, damnit - it's De Niro!

When his mentor (De Niro) is taken captive, a retired member of Britain's Elite Special Service (Statham) is forced into action. His mission: kill the three assassins just dispatched by their cunning leader (Owen).

Killer Elite was both written and directed by Irish filmmaker Gary McKendry, making his feature debut after the Oscar nominated short Everything in This Country Must. The script was co-written by McKendry and Matt Sherring, adapted from Ranulph Fiennes' 1991 book The Feather Men. Omnilab Media and Open Road Films are bringing Killer Elite to theaters starting September 23rd this fall. Worth seeing in theaters?

Clive Owen vs. Jason Statham = Must See ! Also even Deniro will be kicking some ass in this movie, so that's a bonus. I can't wait.
  • For a Statham movie, this looks better then most of his others.
  • This looks like a version of The Mechanic remake all over again.
    • I'm starting to think all gritty action movies with Statham or Owen are blending together.
      • Oh look ..Jason Statham playing Jason Statham ....damn this is too much for my imagination..... -.- ....¬†

He stepped way out of his comfort zone this time. ūüėČ Oh well, De Niro is in it, so I -have- to see it.
  • based on a true story?¬† loosely.
    • Octopus9498
Yeah, it's about a guy and his dad.

When I heard Yvonne Strahovski was going to be in this, I was hoping she would be kicking ass in it but all she appears to be is Statham's love interest.
  • Bigdogg75
Looks pretty good, it's almost like Statham has own genre of action films. I really can't find anybody that does it the same way he does
    • ate
but thank God for I love watching his films. They always deliver entertainment. This looks real good since I love Owen as well.
  • Wait, did they just give away a clip of the ending?... :-l
    • DCompose
Yeah, SPOILER: there's a fight at the end.

Oh GREAT! Thanks a lot, asshole! Well, guess I don't have to see this one, now. Jerk...
  • fuck..did he just do a chair flip? yes yes he did do a chair flip¬†
  • DCompose
    Based on Jason Statham's life.
  • Does this movie have any connecton with the older film "The Killer Elite" with James Caan and Robert Duvall?
    • Bunjiro
No.  That was a different film entirely.  This film is based on the book called THE FEATHER MEN written in the 80s.

i was totally expecting Owen Wilson... yea.
  • jebstuart
Oen looks rediculous with a mustache. Flick looks good though.

I don't think I have ever seen De Niro having a choreographed fighting scene. That alone will make me watch this.
  • Loser
De Niro kicking ass, Oh how I`ve missed the hardboiled De Niro. I`m in
  • petus

  • Bazmoses
looks good but I'd wait and rent it
  • grimjob
I love Statham, but I still think his best role was Turkish. Not at all like what's he's become known for.
  • ff
Owen Wilson, Robert Deniro, and Jason Stratham, and Stratham is the good guy?  Weird.  For me he ruins the movie...
  • mayhem
Hopefully this will be the big screen break for Yvonne Strahvisky. Love her in Chuck and Hollywood needs more Femme Fatales. If this trend continues, though, Statham could end up being the next Steven Stegal or Jean Claude Van Dam. And what's with the mustache on CLive OWen? It just looks wrong. That being said, I still want to see it.
  • wait a second... Rock You Like A Hurricane is ok to play in an orchestra now? They had me sold til that crap started playing. I hated that song back then, I hate it now... I hate it more with an orchestral backing.
  • Generic, formulaic and tired.
  • Wellington
Another trailer that shows way too much...
  • Mr. Foe
    Gah, that mustache. . .
  • Jalts4
BADASS!!! how can u not like this
  • Jason Statham and Clive Owen - two of my favourite badasses of modern cinema in one movie. Gotta go see.
  • murmurmur
i can't believe no one has commented on the fact that this trailer ends with a big ol' nut punch.
  • ………………
EVERY SINGLE JASON STATHAM MOVIE LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME!!!!!.....and I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm going to see this.
  • Stevebeer60
They filmed this in Melbourne, Australia. Supposed to look a lot like NYC for the film. Just how old is Melbourne? I didn't see any Aussie actors I could recognise. Was all the cast imported?
