Dylan Dog: Dead of Night Trailer

I'm sorry, I'm apologizing in advance, this is going to be painful. I don't mean to put you through this, but if you wish to check it out, here's the official trailer via Apple for Dylan Dog: Dead of Night, the extremely cheesy-looking adaptation of the Italian comic book series. Brandon Routh plays Dylan Dog, a "penniless nightmare investigator." The cast includes Taye Diggs, Anita Briem and Peter Stormare, but they don't help, and neither does the cheesy music or the ugly monsters. Like the first trailer, this still looks like a SyFy Channel original TV movie, nothing worth seeing in theaters, so watch out, as this looks awful. Have fun!

Adventures of supernatural private eye Dylan Dog (Brandon Routh) who seeks out monsters (werewolves, vampires, zombies) in the Louisiana bayou while wearing his signature red shirt, black jacket, blue jeans.

Dylan Dog: Dead of Night (as it's currently titled) is directed by Canadian filmmaker Kevin Munroe, who's feature debuted was the animated TMNT, but this is his first live-action flick. The script was co-written by writers Thomas Dean Donnelly & Joshua Oppenheimer (of Thoughtcrimes, Sahara, A Sound of Thunder). It's based on Tiziano Sclavi's Italian comic book series first published in 1986 (and re-released in the US by Dark Horse). Omni Lab is bringing Dylan Dog to theaters starting on April 29th this spring. Thoughts?

Wow I feel sorry for Brandon Routh. From Superman to this? He deserves better material. I'm sure he's hating Bryan Singer right now for screwing up Superman Returns.

I liked it better when it was called "Constantine"

Actually dosnt look to bad probably wouldnt pay to c it at movies but i will watch it for sure.
  • Doesn't actually look terrible. Acting, premise, and plot seem fine. Although, whoever made this trailer should be taken out back and shot. Terrible voice over reminds me of Full Moon Entertainment. The pacing and structure are pretty bad and cheesy as well, but shouldn't be used to measure the film. I also need to drag the guy who designed the title out back with the trailer designer.

Looks more loyal to the source than "Cemetery man"... although in my mind Rupert Everett IS Dylan Dog. Love the actual Italian comics so I'm very curious to see what these gringos do with this undead universe. Hoping for a "Giallo" tinged soundtrack at least...maybe get Justice to channel Goblin again or get Claudio Simonetti to score. That would be Molto awesome.

the movie has a good premise, but i agreen, whoever made the trailer and put the trailer together needs to be taken out back and needs to be given a colombian neck tie, have his dick cut off and put it in his mouth. o yeah definately have the crap beat out of him prior to doing all of that.

wow, this trailer sucks, im just waiting for Ducky from superman iv to come out and say "im breakdancing" por Brandon Routh, Brian Singer ruined his career. Its not Brandon's fault that superman returns sucked and did not have enough action.

The mistakes of the director shouldn't reflect on the actor, for what Brandon had to work with he did pretty good in Superman Returns, but that did not help the movie to not suck. On the other hand his Pilgrim and Chuck roles are pretty entertaining.

This flick looks like fun! It's tone is meant to be of cheesy self-mockery! I see the comical tones with the undead, the way they were interpreted to an effective degree in the original, "American Werewolf In London"! In these times, we have seen comic book flicks take on darker and more serious tones, that we roll our eyes and knock something that is interpreted as comical as it's source material is intended to be! I'd file this flick with the aforementioned, 'Wolf', and The Monster Squad". I get it!....... I'm sure this'll be a cool fun flick!

The vibe feels similar to the one in hellboy. And as a man who has never heard of Dylan Dog I am very exited. BRING IT!

This looks like one of the worst movies ever made. I am sorry I didn't listen to you Alex, now I will never have those two and half minutes back.
  • This looks awesome.
  • It looks terrible, but it won't stop me from watching it, he he.
  • Spiffyman
Looks good nice to see something that isnt vampires for once i do agree the trailer was not put togather well one bit.
  • McWilly
Looks like some good cheesy fun.

it looks like its trying too hard. but i feel like im stll gonna watch it at some point. not every film has to be oscar material.

I grew up reading original Dylan Dog comics and this movie looks like a huge facepalm to me. If it was just some random hero with different name and background I would say it could pass for some cheesy fun but as I am "brainwashed" with original material this just plain sucks. And there is no Dylan Dog without his sidekick Groucho. Judging from this trailer,Cemetary Man is far far superier . I will probably still watch it though .Like one watches a trainwreck.

Glad Brandon is in films again. And I hope that PUNK Zack S. superman film fails horribly for not casting Brandon as Superman. Superman is an American, not them Brits. And SCREW WB too for being greedy not letting Singer finish what he started.
    • Superman is a Kryptonian Ksquarexk. He's actually an illegal immigrant and should get deported.
    • ..them Brits? Lol we're not that bad. Nobody complained about Christian Bale, Ryan Reynolds is Canadian. Not sure you would have found an age appropriate Superman except for Brandon. And of course Snyder wouldn't use someone that's already been part of the franchise. He wants to change it up. Tbh, not sure what the big deal is. As long as the actor portrays Clark Kent/Superman well then s'all good And Superman is Kryptonian fyi... O and Singer's portrayal wasn't very good, that's why he's not back.

Nice, they mention two mediocre movies and one film that hasn't even been released by the time this film exits theaters. Not to mention add cheesy voice over from the Sanctum trailer. Genious! Seriously, it looks terrible.
  • Chazzy
While this was better than the first trailer, it still looks like unbelievably bad garbage. Wow.
  • I like that it kind of makes fun of itself with the zombie support group and all. It just doesn't work for me with Brandon Routh. Its like watching a model from Abercrombie & Fitch battling it out with the monsters.
  • Fukyu
    Cool premise done terribly wrong.
  • Hamster
Come on Alex! This looks like great cheese for a weekend of crappy movies. Pull in "The Room" and "Birdemic" and there will be greatness to be had all around!
  • eye spy
Looks like good dumb fun to me. A bit of an adult monster squad thing going on. Let's not take every film too serious!
  • Scandalousinc
It actually Looks ok to me!! I mean I would probably sneak in to see it, but Id still see it
  • Mattfilm
This looks awesomely bad, I'm in!
