Rachel McAdams Joins Noomi Rapace in Brian De Palma's 'Passion'
It's been nearly a year since we've heard anything about the remake of the French drama Crime d'Amour (or Love Game) from director Brian De Palma. Titled Passion, the film finally seems to be making progress with Thompson on Hollywood reporting Rachel McAdams will join her Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows co-star Noomi Rapace in the remake of the film from Alain Corneau and starring Kristen Scott Thomas and European actor Ludivine Sagnier as two feuding corporate executives. Things take a dark turn when the older executive takes revenge on her protege. However, De Palma's version makes a slight change.
This new version of the 2011 film will see a younger woman who turns to murder when her boss steals one of her big ideas. In its simplest form, it sounds like Horrible Bosses but without the comedy. However, knowing De Palma's body of work, this will be something much more than that. The filmmaker hasn't taken on a project since the 2007 film Redacted, so he's well overdue for a return to the director's chair. However, I haven't truly loved a De Palma film since his start of the Mission Impossible franchise with the first film way back in 1996 (yeah, it's been 15 years). Perhaps he can return to his glory with this thriller that brings two very talented actresses into some dark territory.
