Sacha Gervasi to Write/Direct 'Hitchcock & the Making of Psycho'
They're going to make the "Making of Psycho" as a feature film? That could actually be pretty damn cool to see. 24 Frames is reporting an interesting story regarding British filmmaker Sacha Gervasi, who directed the doc hit Anvil! The Story of Anvil, who is apparently (in discussions) to write and direct a project called Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho that is about, as you guessed, the legendary filmmaker and his quintessential 1960 black & white horror flick. Details aren't all confirmed yet, but the project is in the works at Montecito Pictures and will be based on Stephen Rebello's 20-year-old book of the same name.
Oddly, 24 Frames doesn't actually specify if this film will be more of a documentary or more a conventional feature, but they reference Gervasi's Anvil! doc and the term "biopic", so I have a feeling it's much more of a feature but still telling real stories. The last time we heard about a project involving Alfred Hitchcock was way back in 2007 when the one-and-only Anthony Hopkins was developing a project titled Alfred Hitchcock Presents. Other than that, we haven't heard much of anything until today. This sounds like it could be very intriguing, but since it's in the early development stages, we'll have to wait for more. Anyone interested?
