Sam Rockwell Joining Brad Pitt for Adaptation of 'Cogan's Trade'

We've already heard the talents from The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford are uniting again for an adaptation of George V. Higgins crime novel Cogan's Trade from director Andrew Dominik and starring Brad Pitt. Rumors have pegged Casey Affleck (who played Robert Ford in the aforementioned drama) to also be involved, but no confirmation has surfaced yet. However, the reunion is still growing as Deadline reports Sam Rockwell (another Jesse James star) has signed on to star in the story about Jackie Cogan, an enforcer who investigates a heist that takes place during a high stakes poker game under the protection of the mob.
Pitt is taking the titular lead role of Jackie Cogan, but it's not clear what role Rockwell has taken in the film yet. Previously Casey Affleck had said this project might shoot in January, but since that's the current month, I'm betting it's not going into production that soon (especially since Rockwell just now signed on to star in the film). While I hope the project comes together sooner than later, they certainly shouldn't be rushing into production. The prospect of Rockwell, Pitt and hopefully Affleck working with Andrew Dominik again is very enticing, and I don't want anything spoiling that at all. How about you?
