Briefly: Sony has officially announced a couple of release date updates for movies coming summer 2012. First up, I Hate You Dad, the father-son comedy starring Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg, is scheduled for June 22nd. Next up, Frank Coraci's action-comedy Here Comes the Boom starring Kevin James has been scheduled for July 27th. And finally, Len Wiseman's re-imagining of Philip K. Dick's sci-fi Mars story Total Recall, starring Colin Farrell as Doug Quaid, has been scheduled for release on August 3rd late in the summer. 2012 is already packed full, with The Amazing Spider-Man and Men in Black 3 in there, too.

Sony's Total Recall is a new, contemporized re-imagining of the science fiction saga. It is being directed by Len Wiseman and produced by Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe. The short story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale" by Philip K. Dick served as the source for the 1990 motion picture screen story by Ronald Shusett & Dan O’Bannon and Jon Povill, screenplay by Ronald Shusett & Dan O’Bannon and Gary Goldman, with the updated screenplay being written by Kurt Wimmer (Equilibrium, Law Abiding Citizen, Salt) and Mark Bomback (Live Free or Die Hard, Deception, Unstoppable) and James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, The Losers, The Amazing Spider-Man). We will continue to keep you updated on all of 2012's upcoming movies.

I'm very excited for this, sure Len Wisemen hasn't done much since "Underworld" (The first one) which I see as karmic payback for landing Kate Beckinsale (lucky son of a bitch) so I'm on board for his T.R.

Same very excited! and Collin Farell really needs a career boost.

His career has been going great ever since In Bruges, he was excellent in Crazy Heart, and his performance in "The Way Back" was amazing.

Okay... so wasnt Minority Report originally going to be the sequel to Total reacll before it ended up in development hell? <-- the reason I bring this up is Colin's character got smoked in that movie and if they are going to do this one closer to the source material, wouldnt it serve as more of a prequel? I'm sure it won't but know that I cant help but look at the connection. AND if they do the aliens, mutants, mars thing, we already know the reveals from the first one so sniffing them out in this one will be easier.... Weak-sauce.
