Sound Off: Steven Quale's 'Final Destination 5' - What Did You Think?

Final Destination 5 Sound Off

Now that you've seen it, what did you think? You Can't Cheat Death. Haven't we all learned that by now? New Line's franchise that just won't die is back again with Final Destination 5, in 3D, directed this time by Cameron trainee Steven Quale from a script by Eric Heisserer. The cast includes Nicholas D'Agosto, Emma Bell and Miles Fisher. How is it after five movies, does this series still have the same disturbingly violent magic as the first four? Are the kills as creative and disgusting as they should for the fifth one? How are the actors? If you've seen it, write a comment below and tell us what you thought of Final Destination 5.

I'm honestly not the biggest fan of this franchise, there's just something about it I don't like, it's way too gimmicky as a concept. But I saw Final Destination 5 anyway and truthfully didn't enjoy it. I'm not sure why there's such a satisfaction from watch people gruesomely die, but thankfully a few of the characters were annoying idiots, so it was entertaining to see a couple of them get what was coming. My favorite parts were (spoilers) the big twist at the end, which seemed inspired by the sequels of Paranormal Activity and Saw. I also thought the "you can kill someone else" concept was very underutilized and barely had an effect on them, when it should have. It wasn't awful, but I still prefer some of the earlier Final Destinations over this.

What did you think of Final Destination 5? Best in the franchise or one of the worst ones yet? We will remove any comments that indicate you have not seen the movie, as this area is meant to discuss the film only once you have seen it and can talk about your thoughts. Please keep the comments civilized!

  • Loved it! Great kill twists! What you think happens in the trailer isn't how they die and the ending was awesomely hilarious. It's fun, people died, and that's all I paid for. Plus matinee was $4 so that made it better. lol As for the   "kill someone" plot, it was used enough. Anymore it might have turned in a plot useful movie but as said, I liked it. Deaths were great!  -Tra la la la la di da

It was awesome. The ending really caught me of guard. Woke me up from that awful 30 mins or less crap.

loved it, great franchise, death scenes are creative

Great Movie!!! I think for me is one of the best of the final destination franchise. The deaths where awesome, a lot of suspense and I was surprised with the ending.
  • I loved it! Much better than the 4th one. Every death happened different than I expected. Also loved how this one ended. The opening credits were the objects that killed everyone in the movies before came flying at you shattering glass!

im not racisist, im mexican myself and i already know tht black guy in the picture is gonna die.
  • This is one of those times when I really wish I could borrow James Earl Jones to do a Darth Vader reading, so you'd get that echo chamber of doom effect. Since I can't, just use your imagination.
  • it was weaker than the rest the acting could of been a lot better and the deaths could of been more creative like the other movies this one just seemed simple and thats it the main premonition was very creative but the rest just dragged and the end that was an insane twist but if they do make the two back to backs planned if this movie makes it in the box office then i hope that it can be like the original 4 and have that suspense come back.

The movie was awesome, better than 4, they brought back the suspense from the first. The ending I was not expecting at all, great twist, M. Night shamalan should take notes.

Exact same story as others. No ending, no creativity or difference except the actors. Just like saw series a waste of time and money
  • Mdibattista23
Very creative and brilliant ending, brought it full circle and totally caught me off guard, loved it!!!!
