Now that you've seen it, what did you think? You Can't Cheat Death. Haven't we all learned that by now? New Line's franchise that just won't die is back again with Final Destination 5, in 3D, directed this time by Cameron trainee Steven Quale from a script by Eric Heisserer. The cast includes Nicholas D'Agosto, Emma Bell and Miles Fisher. How is it after five movies, does this series still have the same disturbingly violent magic as the first four? Are the kills as creative and disgusting as they should for the fifth one? How are the actors? If you've seen it, write a comment below and tell us what you thought of Final Destination 5.
I'm honestly not the biggest fan of this franchise, there's just something about it I don't like, it's way too gimmicky as a concept. But I saw Final Destination 5 anyway and truthfully didn't enjoy it. I'm not sure why there's such a satisfaction from watch people gruesomely die, but thankfully a few of the characters were annoying idiots, so it was entertaining to see a couple of them get what was coming. My favorite parts were (spoilers) the big twist at the end, which seemed inspired by the sequels of Paranormal Activity and Saw. I also thought the "you can kill someone else" concept was very underutilized and barely had an effect on them, when it should have. It wasn't awful, but I still prefer some of the earlier Final Destinations over this.
What did you think of Final Destination 5? Best in the franchise or one of the worst ones yet?
