13 Trailer

Sometimes fate is just a number. The official theatrical trailer for Géla Babluani's American remake of his own film 13 Tzameti, titled simply 13 this time, has debuted on Yahoo. The ensemble cast is lead by Sam Riley, but also includes names like Jason Statham, 50 Cent, Mickey Rourke, Alexander Skarsgård, Ray Liotta, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Ray Winstone and Michael Shannon. This isn't the first trailer we've featured, but after premiering a year ago, this is finally getting a theatrical release this October. I'm impressed, it actually looks pretty damn good, very intriguing as I still haven't seen the original. Have fun!

A naive young man named Vince (Sam Riley) assumes another man's identity and finds himself embroiled in an underground world of power and chance, where men gamble behind closed doors with others' lives.

13 is directed by young French filmmaker Géla Babluani, who made his feature debut with the film that this is a remake of, 13 Tzameti in 2005, and followed that up with L'héritage. Babluani co-wrote the screenplay with Gregory Pruss (Marlowe). This was co-produced by Paramount Vantage, and is being distributed by Anchor Bay Films in the US. Babluani's new 13 arrives in limited theaters starting October 28th this fall.

Pretty sure that was awesome. I want to see Statham in more non-action flicks, the guy can act but he does to many action driven films.

Agree. He was so great with Guy Ritchie. Sure, he does a fine job of kicking ass, but his wit and delivery are what I like best. That said, this flick looks damn good. Could get pretty intense.

His performance in Revolver was fantastic the guy can handle serious roles and his role in this looks awesome.

Saw this film a couple months ago and it's really good. Ray Winstone and Jason Statham are great in the film, the only thing I felt was unnecessary were Mickey Rourke's and Curtis Jackson's characters, they were useless.

Everybody: Go watch the original before spoiling it for yourself with the remake!!!

wonder if it's anything like intacto

A great film! Intense and astonishing, Gela Babluani remaking himself and making the movie better than the original.

The greatest thing about the original is that you have NO IDEA what and how things play out, Babluani just builds and builds on the tension until you FINALLY realize what's actually going on and by then it's too late and it's just unbearably exciting. That is the only reason I feel let down about this new version. Oh well.

This should have been released at least a year ago and has been needlessly delayed. It has a stellar cast and shouldn’t go unnoticed by the public when it finally comes out.
  • This is already out on DVD in Norway...
