Super 8 Movie

Do you believe? Paramount aired a new TV spot with a few never-before-seen moments for J.J. Abrams' Super 8, my most anticipated movie of the year. It was uploaded last night by TheMovieBox. I believe it aired during the Kids' Choice Awards, which is where a number of youth-focused TV spots hits, including a few for Green Lantern, too. Paramount also brought out the five kids from the movie, lead by newcomer Joel Courtney as Joe (left in photo above), to the red carpet of the Kids' Choice Awards and the LA Times uploaded a very fun video interview with them that I've also included. Check out both Super 8 videos below!

Watch the red carpet interview with Super 8's five kid actors via LA Times:

Relationships are tested when a small town experiences extraordinarily fantastic "other-worldly" events.
The film stars Zach Mills, Elle Fanning, Kyle Chandler, Noah Emmerich, Ron Eldard and Amanda Michalka.

Super 8 (which is supposedly a tentative title, but that doesn't seem to be the case) is written & directed by visionary director J.J. Abrams, who started his career with "Lost" and "Alias" before first directing Mission: Impossible III then Star Trek last summer. This is being produced by Steven Spielberg at Amblin, Relativity and Bad Robot. According to early reports, this was inspired by Spielberg's sci-fi films of the 70's and 80's. Paramount will be bringing Super 8 to theaters everywhere, not in 3D, starting on June 10th this summer.

"Paramount will be bringing Super 8 to theaters everywhere, not in 3D, starting on June 10th this summer." That alone makes me happy.
    • But it will be in IMAX! :) Nah this is one of those movies that just because of the style, the story (set in the 70's being told around Super 8 cameras) 3D would be a complete atrocity to use. So glad they're sticking with only 2D - just like Cowboys & Aliens.
      • Awesomme thats the best thing to do..!

Anyone else afraid this looks a little too much like E.T.?
    • Nope, not at all. Has a completely different, completely unique vibe to it. But even if it is a bit like E.T., that's absolutely not a bad thing either. Why would it be?
      • Moif
Because E.T. is, and always was emotional pornography

lol @ that kid's teeth. Looks like something out of a bugs bunny cartoon.
  • if it is ANYTHING like E.T, then this would be the best movie this year. But I'm pretty sure I'll love even more! This, Immortals and MI:GP are keeping me sleepless! oh, and that Green lantern 4 min vid looked awesome!!
