Watch: Ben Stiller's 'Zoolander' Meeting Bill Hader as Stefon on 'SNL'

Though we're still waiting on any real development for the highly anticipated sequel to Zoolander, fans of the fashion comedy were surprised by the return of the really, really, ridiculously good looking male model over the weekend. The film's star Ben Stiller hosted "Saturday Night Live" this weekend, and in a stroke of genius, showed up during Weekend Update when cast member Bill Hader had taken the stage as his popular recurring character Stefon, a posh, hip piece of work who always knows New York's hottest clubs. The surprise union is just as hilarious and fantastic as you would hope, and you can see it in full below!

If the cheers on "Saturday Night Live" are any indicator, then Ben Stiller needs to make his big screen return as Derek Zoolander sooner than later. Fans of the 2001 comedy have been waiting ten years now for the sequel, and there's no better time than now. Of course, it looks like Stiller's age over the past decade may affect just how ridiculously good-looking Zoolander will be after years of absence, but that's why there's make-up. And you know, after this team-up on the late night sketch comedy show, it would be great to see Bill Hader get a role in Zoolander 2, especially if he could show up as Stefon somewhere in the fasion world.

Perhaps it is just me, but that fell kind of flat. I love the Zoolander film and the character, but this sketch wasn't funny. Granted, I know nothing of Bill Hader's character, so that could have something to do with it too. Even saying that, Stiller's lines felt empty.

  No it fell flat. Ironically I was whining "where is Stefon?" when they had Kristen Wiig do a neurotic & shy party planner bit earlier in Weekend update. The best part of the Stefon bit is watching Bill Hader try not to laugh. Zoolander is hard to pull off live, and yeah... Stiller is starting to get too old for it. Hurry up Ben!

he look and acted a bit off, which is sad cuz now i'm worried about a 2nd zoolander :/

Everyone calm down. It was just a little preview that they had a week to prepare for. It's not like the movie is going to have Stiller hopping into a Zoolander costume last second having the same formulaic jokes that Stefon has. I love the Stefon character though, I wish SNL would add more to him than just popping in at Weekend Update. It was a great mix for those two, and really nostalgic for Zoolander. I really hope the sequel happens.
