Watch: Ewan McGregor, Christopher Plummer in 'Beginners' Trailer

I hope it lasts... Focus Features has debuted the first official trailer for Thumbsucker director Mike Mills' new film Beginners, starring Ewan McGregor and Christopher Plummer, that first premiered at the Toronto Film Fest last year. Plummer stars as the father of McGregor who, after being married for 44 years, comes out as being gay. This actually looks incredibly charming and extremely entertaining, I'm sad I never got to see it. I've heard great reviews, too. It also stars Mélanie Laurent, who always melts my heart when I see her. I really suggest watching this trailer, you might find yourself sold already. Watch the trailer below!

When his seventy-one-year-old father (Christopher Plummer) announces that he has terminal cancer and has a young male lover, Oliver (Ewan McGregor) must explore the honesty of his own past relationships.

Beginners is both written & directed by acclaimed American filmmaker Mike Mills, of the film Thumbsucker and various shorts like Paperboys and Deformer previously. It first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year and was picked up by Focus Features for US distribution. Beginners will be released in limited theaters starting on June 3rd this summer. I think it looks really good! Anyone interested in it?

plummer and mcgregor are excellent actors and this sounds like a nice father/son story. i certainly hope the son askes dad how/why he stayed with mom for 44 years till death if he was gay. i'm in.

For such a short trailer, it packed a lot in and didn't bullet point the whole plot. Looks like a good one.
