Sam Worthington in Man on a Ledge Teaser Trailer

"Today's the day that everything changes…" Summit has unveiled their first teaser trailer, which is pretty much a full-length trailer, for Man on a Ledge, the Sam Worthington man on a ledge film that, unlike The Ledge, also involves a diamond heist beyond just a man threatening to jump off of a building. The cast includes Genesis Rodriguez, Elizabeth Banks, Ed Harris and Jamie Bell. While I at least appreciate the intricacy of the setup, this does look a bit Hollywood campy, with all kinds of random action and cheesy dialogue, but I want to watch it, at least to see if they actually pull off the heist. Check out the trailer below!

Man on a Ledge, the first feature film from director Asger Leth (Ghosts of Cité Soleil), follows an ex-cop (Sam Worthington) threatening to jump to his death from a Manhattan hotel rooftop, but the potential suicide might be a front for something bigger. Unbeknownst to the police psychologists brought in to talk him down, this suicide attempt is supposedly a cover for the biggest diamond heist ever attempted. Worthington will play the cop who was thrown in jail for a crime he didn't commit, but finds himself let out for his father's funeral. The cast includes Anthony Mackie, Titus Welliver, Kyra Sedwick, Ed Harris and Elizabeth Banks, and is slated to hit theaters on January 13th, 2012. Worth seeing in theaters?

Why do they always show too much on trailers nowadays? He jumps off the building and gets caught by one of the lame.

This is the worst damn title I've seen all year. Are you kidding me? I mean the movie looks entertaining, but it is some of the most cliche and cheesey material for an action/thriller that I've seen in some time.
