Watch: First Great Trailer for Soderbergh's 'Haywire' with Gina Carano

They left her with no choice. After kicking the ass of Comic-Con's Hall H, Relativity has released the first official trailer for Steven Soderbergh's Haywire, his action movie starring MMA fighter Gina Carano. The cast in this is incredible: Michael Fassbender, Channing Tatum, Ewan McGregor, Michael Douglas, Antonio Banderas, Michael Angarano and Bill Paxton. The action in this was designed to be realistic, as if these two people were actually fighting in person, and it's brutal and intense, but looks badass. I have a good feeling this might be one of the best action movies of next year, even though it hits in January. Check it out!

Haywire is directed by Oscar winning filmmaker Steven Soderbergh, following up The Informant and The Girlfriend Experience, from a script by Lem Dobbs, of Soderbergh's The Limey, as well as Dark City and Kafka. In Haywire, an electrifying tale of espionage and betrayal, a female covert ops specialist (Carano), who works in the deadly world of international operatives, strikes back after discovering she's been double-crossed by someone in the agency. The cast includes Channing Tatum, Ewan McGregor, Michael Douglas, Michael Fassbender, Antonio Banderas, Bill Paxton. Relativity is releasing Haywire on January 20, 2012.

Gina Carano is HOT! and can deffentially kick alot of ass, but I don't think she will make a great actress. As for this trailer the action looks badass, but am I really the only one who notices how low budget this movie looks. I swear that I thought I was looking at a trailer for a DTV flick at some parts.

Yeah, I agree. Looks bad. Soderbergh hasn't done anything good in years. He's trying to make a female Bourne or something but he can't direct action. It looks dull.

heck yea, rich - from that trailer, it looks like they're throwing a little segal, norris, stallone, statham and any other action hero into the female lead............and she doesn't seem to have the ability to carry the part. i agree on soderbergh too - i've never been a fan of his movies.

"You better run" - Directly to theatres to see this - it'll be a fun ride! Overall good cast, I didn't think Gina looked too bad in this either - more believable than say Anne Hathaway

WOW THIS LOOKS SO CHEESY! It Seems like a Strait to DVD quality movie..why does the film quality look so cheap and the trailer look so bad? Is this a bad joke? And WHY are all of you saying it looks so awesome? just because Soderbergh is attached? I mean this seems like all these cast members are wasted! The action and fight scenes dont look "real" they just look bad. HONESTY people..its the BEST POLICY

I love how some of you people are calling this a "so-so" film and such before even seeing it. I mean, sure, critique the trailer all you like. But let's hold our judgement on the actual product when it comes out. That said, I thought the trailer looked pretty amazing. And who is Gina Carano? Never heard of her before. To me, this movie looks like a cross between "La Femme Nikita" meets "The Bourne Identity". Add to that, that amazing cast and A lister director. In short, sign me up!

To all of you guys wondering who gina carano is.... she is one of mma's top fighters. Had an undefeated streak til she ran into a Brazilian fighter named cris cyborg.... who is quite honestly scary as hell. As for the trailer..... why not? Id like to see an ass kicking movie with a female lead. I saw hanna recently...so why not.

Grade A director and cast but sort of a B movie feel to it. And I'm not judging by the trailer. I do love Gina Carano in it though. I hope she decides to pursue more action oriented roles.
