Watch: First Quick TV Spot for 'Apollo 18' Doesn't Show Anything New
"Why didn't we know about this?" Dimension Films/The Weinstein Company has released the first official 30 second TV spot via Wired.com for Apollo 18, their found footage sci-fi moon thriller we've been buzzing about for over a year now. The latest full trailer debuted back in June, but I'm running this TV spot because I was hoping there might be some new footage in it, alas there's not much. However, the one scene that does intrigue me is when the camera starts getting dragged backwards. I'm scared as hell by aliens but I'm totally fascinated by this film, at least to learn what the real story is. If you're curious, check out the new TV spot.
Watch the first TV spot for Gonzalo López-Gallego's Apollo 18 via Wired (sorry the video is so small!):
Decades-old found footage from NASA's abandoned Apollo 18 mission, where two astronauts were sent on a secret expedition, reveals the real reason the US has never returned to the moon. Watch the latest trailer.
Apollo 18 is directed by Spanish editor/filmmaker Gonzalo López-Gallego, of a few features like King of the Hill and Nómadas previously, who is making his English-language debut with this. The original screenplay was written by Brian Miller (Paracusia) & Cory Goodman (Priest). Russian filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov also produced this in secrecy at Dimension Films. After delaying this for quite a while, The Weinstein Company is currently set to release the mysterious Apollo 18 in theaters starting September 2nd this fall.
